Christiane Massicotte, DVM, MS, PhD, DACVIM(Neurology), received her Doctorate ofVeterinary Medicine from the University ofMontreal in 1994. She then completed aninternship program at the University ofMinnesota and a residency program at theVirginia-Maryland Regional College ofVeterinary Medicine. While participating in herresidency program, Dr. Massicotte concurrentlyearned a Master's degree in Neurotoxicology.While at Virginia Tech, she continued herstudies in neurotoxicology and obtained herPhD in 2001. Dr. Massicotte earned her boardcertification as a Diplomate in Neurology at theAmerican College of Veterinary InternalMedicine in July of 2001.

Dr. Massicotte then worked at the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor ofNeurology while conducting research on molecular biology of the peripheral nervous system. Dr. Massicotte has been working at Animal Emergency and Referral Associates in Fairfield,New Jersey, as the Director of their Neurology/neurosurgery Department since 2005. She isnow joining Veterinary Care and Specialty Group in Chattanooga, Tennessee, as the Directorof our Neurology/neurosurgery Department. Dr. Massicotte's clinical interests include seizure management, inflammatory diseases of thecentral nervous system, and all aspect of neurosurgery. Her research interests includemolecular biology, electrophysiology, and disorders of the peripheral nervous system. In her free time, Dr. Massicotte enjoys farmland and the outdoor. She loves taking walks withCrescendo and Maestro, her Collies. She also takes great pleasure in riding Stella and AmberMoon, her beautiful mares. Dr. Massicotte enjoys her morning cup of coffee talking withFigaro, her bird. She also owns a black belt in Taekwondo. We are so happy to welcome Dr. Massicotte to the VCSG family!

The project is scheduled to complete on time! During May, we paved the parking lot

and completed many of the interior finishes.Between now and our mid-June completion date,

we will be wrapping up loose ends on both the interior and exterior. We wish everyone at VCSG the very best on

a smooth transition to this new facility.Thank you for your trust in allowing us to build

this beautiful new animal hospital.
