Queridos feligreses,
A medida que continuamos nuestras reflexiones sobre
el sacerdocio, es interesante revisar los escritos de
San Juan Pablo II, que sirvió como Papa desde 1978-
2005. Cada año, el Jueves Santo, escribía una carta a
los sacerdotes del mundo para compartir ideas y dar
consejos para avanzar en la santidad. En 1979
escribió la primera carta y continuó cada año hasta su
muerte el 2 de abril de 2005.
San Juan Pablo II refleja: “Nuestro sacerdocio sacra-
mental es ministerial, es decir, es para el servicio. Su
origen proviene del propio Cristo ".
Continúa: “El sacerdocio exige una integridad particu-
lar de la vida y el servicio. Se trata de la humilde dis-
posición a aceptar los dones del Espíritu Santo y trans-
mitir a los demás los frutos del amor y la paz. "La vida
de servicio tiene este propósito:" dar a otros la certeza
de la fe y el significado de la existencia humana y La
capacidad de introducir el orden moral en la vida de
los individuos ".
Estas reflexiones de San Juan Pablo II nos ayudan a todos a en-
tender más claramente el sacerdocio.
En el año 2005, su última carta a los sacerdotes del mundo es una
reflexión sobre las palabras de la institución que el sacerdote dice
en el momento de la transubstanciación del pan y el vino en el
Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo. Escribe específicamente sobre la
gratitud.
“En la Eucaristía Jesús agradece al Padre con nosotros y por no-
sotros. El sacerdote sabe que debe cultivar un sentido constante
de gratitud por los muchos dones que ha recibido en el transcurso
de su vida: en particular por el don de la fe, que es su tarea de
proclamar, y por el don del sacerdocio, que lo consagra totalmente
al servicio del Reino de Dios ".

Dear Parishioners,
As we continue our reflections on the priesthood, it
is interesting to revisit the writings of Saint John Paul
II who served as the pope from 1978-2005. Each
year on Holy Thursday he wrote a letter to the priests
of the world to share ideas and to give advice for
advancement in holiness. In 1979 he wrote the first
letter and continued each year until his death on
April 2, 2005.
Saint John Paul II reflects: “Our sacramental priest-
hood is ministerial that is to say it is for service. Its
origin comes from Christ himself.”
He continues, “The priesthood calls for a particular
integrity of life and service. It is about the humble
readiness to accept the gifts of the Holy Spirit and to
transmit to others the fruits of love and peace.” The
life of service has this purpose: “to give others the
certainty of faith and the meaning of human exist-
ence and the capacity to introduce the moral order
into the lives of individuals.”
These reflections of Saint John Paul II help all of us to understand
the priesthood more clearly.
In the year 2005, his last letter to the priests of the world is a
reflection on the words of institution that the priest says at the
moment of the transubstantiation of the bread and wine into the
Body and the Blood of Christ. He writes specifically about grati-
tude.
“In the Eucharist Jesus thanks the Father with us and for us. The
priest knows that he must cultivate a constant sense of gratitude
for the many gifts he has received in the course of his life: in
particular for the gift of faith, which it is his task to proclaim,
and for the gift of the priesthood, which consecrates him
totally to the service of the Kingdom of God.”

tions. The position reports to the Director of Parish Busi-
ness Services and operates with some latitude for the
