The young people who created this podcast said: "We chose to do this podcast to help educate people about some of our struggles, facts and experiences. Our goal is to build inclusivity and acceptance across Highland."

Looking for Digital Advice? There's lots out there - The Digital Youth Work FB Group run by Dana Jupp is full of youth workers from all over the country sharing advice and best practice. Here's Dana's description of the group -
"Welcome to the wonderful world of digital youth work in the time of Covid-19. I've started this group as a place for youth workers (and those using youth work approaches in their work) to ask questions and share resources. Basically, it's a safe place for us to talk, laugh, or cry over the reality of delivering our face-to-face work in digital contexts. It's for folk anywhere from those new to the idea as well as those more experienced.
I'm a digital youth work consultant and trainer and have used digital technologies in my practice since 2008. I also spent a number of years working towards a PhD exploring the influence of digital technologies on the nature and purpose of youth work. Over the coming weeks, I'll be hosting live drop-in sessions (likely on Zoom). I'm also developing some hour-long training sessions on topics such as managing digital boundaries with young people, digital detox, and, mot importantly, launching my framework to help practitioners develop robust, innovative digital opportunities for young people".

Covid-19
Child Protection Additional Guidance from Scottish
Government
Scottish Government are advising that there is likely to be a rise in child
protection concerns due to the impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic on
families and wider society.
In light of this, Scottish Government have issues some additional Covid-19
guidance which supplements the National Guidance for Child Protection in
Scotland https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-

Changes to PVG system during Coronavirus
Disclosure Scotland have advised that they are currently giving priority to
applications for roles that support the response to COVID 19 in the following
sectors: healthcare, pharmaceutical, childcare, social work, social care,
befriending, prisons and justice.
Youth Scotland has updated our PVG process to adapt to Coronavirus and
will continue to support members with PVG checks. For members who have
new staff, volunteers or trustees who require checking, please
contact [email protected] and we can arrange to send you the
appropriate new forms and to undertake remote ID verification. Please note that
depending on the role, this process may take longer than normal. If you have
already submitted forms, please contact us and we will give you a status
update.
If you have staff/volunteers/trustees that are due to have a routine scheme
update done in line with good practice (e.g. every 3 years), please can you hold
these applications for the moment but note that these are due once the system
fully reopens.
If you process your PVG’s through Youth Borders, Youth 1st or LAYC, please
contact them directly.
If you process PVG’s with Volunteer Scotland or another umbrella body, please
contact them directly.
Volunteer Scotland have also produced a useful guide for organisations:
