Concrete Steel Sleeve Anchors Fire Sleeve Plastic Pipe Floor Slab Vertical Fire Sleeves Fixing Instructions May 2018 u Domus Vertical Fire Sleeves are life saving products designed to prevent the spread of fire where plastic pipes penetrate fire compartment walls or floors. It is therefore essential that they are fitted in a responsible and workmanlike manner. u The Fire Sleeves should be used where a plastic pipe penetrates a fire rated wall or floor. For vertical pipework, one unit should be installed to the underside of the floor. The soffit of the floor or the face of the wall must be smooth and where there are irregularities in the surface, the space between the flange of the unit and floor or the wall should be made good using Domus Acoustic Acrylic Sealant. u The Fire Sleeve should be fed around the plastic pipe, securing the ends together by passing the tongues on one end through the slots on the other end. The tongues should then be bent back and the unit secured to the structure using the integral fixing lugs. Caution! Product has sharp edges! Wear gloves when handling. u The Fire Sleeve must be secured to concrete and masonry construction using steel sleeve anchors. u The Fire Sleeves can also be installed in conjunction with the Domus Ventilation System. Please refer to Domus Ventilation Technical department for details.     u For horizontal pipework one unit should be fi tted to each side of the wall.

    u Where fi tting to a plasterboard partition wall one Fire Sleeve should be installed on either side of the partition and fi xed using through-bolts with nuts and washers, or secured to each side of the partition using plasterboard steel cavity wall sleeve anchors.
