The following must be specified to place your order:

1. Quantity of Blinds

2. Size of Blinds: WIDTH first, then HEIGHT. See page 5-6 for “How to Measure” instructions

3. Inside or Outside Mount For inside window frame installation,

mark order “Inside Mount”. For outside

window frame installation, mark order “Outside Mount”.

4. Opening OptionsIndicate whether the blind should open from the left, right or center. See page 27.

5a. Control Locations:Indicate whether control should be located on the left or right side of the blind (right is standard). See page 27.

5b.Control Options: Standard Cord/Chain or One Touch® Control System, see page 26 and 27.

6. Blind Style: When placing your order, specify:

• Style of PVC or fabric • Color number

Measuring Information

Measure each window individually as

size variances are common. Record

width first, then height to the nearest 1⁄8". Measure width from left to right,

height from top to bottom using a

steel tape measure.

Do not use a cloth tape.

Inside MountInside mount blinds are installed inside

the window casing or door, or wall to wall

in a room. The window casing must be at

least 23⁄4" deep for flush track mount or 33⁄4"

deep for flush vane mount. Otherwise an

angle bracket may be necessary. (Minimum

recessed space = 23⁄8").

1. Measure the exact inside width of window

casing from one inside edge to the other

in three different places. Record the

narrowest measurement.

2. Measure the exact height in three different

places from top edge of opening to top of

sill. Record the shortest measurement.

3. Measure the window diagonally in two

places as shown. If the two diagonal

dimensions are not equal, we recommend

an outside mount application for optimal

shade function and aesthetics.

4. Do not take deductions. Allowances are

made at the factory to ensure a perfect fit.

Outside MountOutside mount blinds are installed outside the

window casing, covering an area larger than

the window itself.

1. Measure the exact width of window,

including the frame if there is one. Add 3"

for each side (6" total overlap) to ensure

light control and privacy.

2. Measure the exact height of window from

top edge of molding to bottom edge, or to

top of sill if there is one. Add 3" to allow

for adequate mounting area above the

window.

3. If blind extends to the floor (i.e. to cover

patio door) measure (as in step 2) and

add 3" to allow for adequate mounting

area above the window and deduct 1⁄2" for

clearance so the vanes do not touch the

floor.

4. The factory makes NO allowances on

outside mount.

NOTE: If you want the entire window

uncovered when blinds are fully open,

please see “How to Measure for Uncovered Window” on the following page.

Measuring Information; Installation Types

Regular Window: How to Measure for Uncovered Window

1. Determine headrail type and the clear opening width for

one-way draw or split draw (See diagrams) - the additional

3" shown for privacy is recommended if ordering one-way

draw.

2. Match the clear opening width with dimension found under

“C.O.” COLUMN on pages 32-33. For even spacing, round

up width measurement to the next size in the stack chart.

Split draw will have even numbers of vanes.

3. Order the corresponding dimension found in the “F.B.W.”

(Finished Blind Width) column on pages 32-33.

Example: One-Way Draw Magnum™ 31⁄2"

If determined width for clear opening window view is 543⁄8",

order width needed to provide full unobstructed view is 631⁄8".

NOTE: For one-way draw blinds add an additional 3" to the

C.O. (clear opening) before calculating the FBW.

Bay Window: How to Measure Three-sided Bay Window

Measure:

A & C: Width of side windows from the corners to the point you

would like the blind to cover.

B: Width of the center window from corner to corner.

Angle A-B: Angle between windows (A) and (B).

Angle B-C: Angle between windows (B) and (C).

Measure bay angle using protractor or angle fi nder. Or use two business

cards in bay corner as illustrated and fax to customer service.

The Standard valance is an extruded vinyl valance with dust

cover and Stay-Clear™ channel panel, which is sized to hold

31⁄2" wide vane material. It includes two 51⁄2" returns. The

Standard valance is included with each blind order.

The Deluxe valance system features the Stay-Clear channel

panel guaranteed not to yellow. The corner accommodates

vinyl and fabric vanes as inserts (S-shape style vanes use

matching crown profile for valance insert).

The same base system is used to create a Deluxe double

channel panel valance with the ability to create a double

(layered) valance treatment.

Both valances include 51⁄2" returns.

Measuring and Ordering Information for Cornices

Cornices are optional with your Vertical Blind order. Customer

needs to supply the size of blind ordered, manufacturer will

take appropriate deductions.

For blinds ordered as an OUTSIDE MOUNT, cornices are

supplied with returns sized to cover the end of the blind back

to the mounting surface. Custom returns may be ordered, up

to 8". Outside mount cornices not available without returns.

If projection brackets are requested when the blind is ordered, longer returns will need to be specified.

Minimum return length is ½ ".

Maximum return length is 8".

OUTSIDE MOUNT cornices include a dust cover to conceal

the top of the blind.

NOTE: Cornices with returns are measured and cut from the

INSIDE of the miter to ensure the most accurate fit when

installed over the headrail or window frame.

For blinds ordered as an INSIDE MOUNT, cornices are

supplied without returns and look best when the blind and

cornice can be completely recessed. Ends of the cornice are

straight cut.

INSIDE MOUNT cornices do NOT have a dust cover. Returns

are NOT available.

Additional ordering information:

• Please state at the time of order if the cornice return

measurements are for the EXACT size required so that no

additions or deductions are made

• Wood cornice will be shipped separate from blind

• Manufacturer recommends installing blind and cornice at the same time

Vane Styles

Vinyl Vanes – Dust or vacuum with an upholstery

attachment. For soil removal, sponge with a mild detergent

and warm water solution and blot dry. Vanes may be

removed and immersed in water. Also, if a thin film of mild

detergent is left on vanes, it will eliminate static electricity.

Fabric Vanes – Dust or vacuum with an upholstery

attachment. For soil removal, sponge with a mild detergent

and warm water solution (or dry fabric cleaner) and blot dry.

Do not immerse in water or dry clean.

Vinyl S-Shaped Vanes

• S-shaped vanes are NOT reversible

• On Right Stack & Split Draw, the high side (or convex side*)

of the vane is to the right of the vane stem hole

• On Left Stack only, the high side (or convex side*) of the

vane is on the left side of the vane stem hole

• When hanging side by side, the "high side" of the vane

must be the same for both blinds.

What is Covered The Magnum™and DuraLite™ headrail products are warranted

against original defects in materials or workmanship for as

long as the original purchaser owns the product provided

that:

(1) the product was properly installed in a residential

dwelling;

(2) the product was made or assembled exclusively from

Springs Window Fashions’ materials and components;

(3) Springs Window Fashions recommendations were

followed with regard to limitations and specifications

Who is CoveredThis warranty extends only to you as the original purchaser

of the above stated headrail products.

Obligations to the ConsumerThe obligations of Springs Window Fashions are limited to

the repair or replacement of parts or product found to be

defective.

Springs Window Fashions is not responsible for shipping

costs or labor costs for measuring and taking the blind down

or reinstalling the product.

If repairs are made under this warranty, the repairs will be

made with like or similar parts.

What the Warranty Does Not CoverThis warranty does not cover conditions or damages

caused by accidents, alterations, misuse, or failure to

follow instructions for measurement, installation, cleaning

or maintenance. In addition, normal wear and tear are not

covered by the warranty.

When left for extended periods in direct sunlight, plastics

tend to yellow or crack. All cords will eventually wear out.

Springs Window Fashions considers these things normal

wear and tear and are not covered by this warranty.

THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF

ALL OTHER WRITTEN OR ORAL WARRANTIES OR

What is Covered The vanes (vinyl or fabric) for any vertical blind product

are warranted against original defects in materials or

workmanship for three (3) years provided that:

the sun. When left for extended periods in direct sunlight,

plastics tend to yellow or crack. All cords will eventually wear

out. Springs Window Fashions considers these things normal

wear and tear and are not covered by this warranty.

Fabrics vary from lot to lot and may not exactly match

sample swatch or previous purchases.
