1. Project ideaKING SLAYER is an online multiplayer mobile RPG game developed with the use of blockchain economics. The blockchain economics means the following:

• Use of cryptocurrency token as in-game currency which emissionand handling rules are described and strictly followed with the helpof blockchain technology;

• Use of tokenized in-game items in the game world which theowners have direct access to with the help of blockchain andcryptography solutions;

• Use of smart contracts to implement gameplay features;• Possibility to exchange and sell tokens and in-game items outside

of the game world.

Our solution is based on ETH blockchain. In our opinion, it is preconditioned by technical advantages of the Ethereum platform, ETH capitalization, and popularity of ICOs using this blockchain.

The KingSlayer project idea combines a popular gaming genre with blockchain solutions. Such a symbiosis is high-demand on the world gaming market considering basic trends of its development*:

• Dramatic increase of the world gaming market size,• Increase of income share attributable to mobile games,• MMORPG genre popularity,• Trend to use revolutionary, technically speaking, blockchain

In other words, KingSlayer is a response to the market needs. But KingSlayer is not just a game. We create gaming blockchain economics based on KingSlayer.

Our goal is to develop Virtual Game Platform that will provide the developers with convenient API to implement solutions created by us (cryptotoken as in-game currency, tokenized in-game items, use of smart contracts in gameplay) into their games and products. Virtual Game Platform will connect gaming products and ETH blockchain relieving the developers from necessity to integrate with blockchain individually.

The mission of our project is to develop and promote solutions on implementation of blockchain economics into games and applications.

2. Market analysis

Along with transition of gamers to mobile platform, we can observe an explosive growth of mobile application market as a whole. The market tendencies suggest for that in the nearest future this area will continue to generate more and more revenue.

The preferences of customers by gaming platforms in the entire world as of August, 2016. The most recent information is not

available but the statistics demonstrate just the growing trend.

2.1. Increase of gaming industryAccording to J’son and Partners Consulting forecasts, the scope of the world gaming market will have exceeded $130 bn by 2021, demonstrating annual growth rates at 5.4% in the period from 2016 through 2021.

The company points out that the structure of the world gaming market by segments has changed over the past three years. While in 2013, a large market share was taken by PC market (nearly 40%) and 37% by gaming consoles, the mobile games became the largest segment in 2016 generating $36.9 bn revenue that corresponds to 76% of the total world gaming market share. This means that in 2016 the revenues in the mobile segment exceeded the revenues from PC games for the first time.

At the same time, the Liftoff report specifies that the “Games” category is a leader among all the smartphone applications generating 85% of total revenue on the application market in 2015. And despite enormous amount of new applications entering the market on a weekly basis (2750 applications in App Store alone), their revenues continue to grow.

According to App Annie data, the area of mobile applications has generated immense $41.1 bn of gross annual income and this index is expected to reach $50.9 bn. According to Statista forecasts, by 2020 the gross annual income will have exceeded $189 bn. Despite the difference between the data of various researches, the main conclusion is as follows: the market is far from being congested. The App Annie forecasts were confirmed in Forrester reports that by the end of 2016 only 46% of the world population owned a smartphone. It is a sign that the mobile revolution is only beginning.

2.3. MMORPG genre. Relevance, statistics and futureStarting from 2000s, the RPG gaming genre became popular on desktops and consoles which resulted in step-by-step appearance of multiple solutions for RPG games for mobile devices. Currently, it is a giant market that is developing the most in the Asian region.

The majority of players in China use Android to play MMORPG, however the highest monetization can be observed among users of iOS devices. Thus, Honour of Kings, a popular RPG game became a leader in the Chinese AppStore last May becoming the first game of this genre to achieve that.

Having analyzed the most popular MMORPGs, we can observe that the majority of the games of this genre are paid, while the ones that can be downloaded for free have a large amount of paid in-game content required to finish missions successfully.

The top games with 10 to 50 million downloads are Avabel Online, Dungeon Hunter and Eternium. World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem Heroes at Google Play are represented by 5 to 10 million downloads. It demonstrates huge popularity of this gaming genre.

World of Warcraft is one of the most popular MMORPGs. It was released by Blizzard Entertainment in 2004. In 2015 it had more than 5.5 million players but eventually the company decided not to disclose the exact figure. In the game, a player can choose to play any of 14 races.

The American and European players are similar in interests, they actively choose to play as humans (16-17%%), followed by elves (15-14%%), while other races have 1-2%. With World of Warcraft installed on your phone, you can track the characters (statistics, equipping, etc.), enter the Auction, search for characters, items, guilds and many more.

2.4. RPG games share in Asian market

The ZennaApps marketing agency conducted a research of the Asian mobile market.

According to Zenna Apps analytics, the RPGs are extremely popular among Korean users with 36% of the titles from top-25 applications for Android and iOS being of this genre.

On the top of that, the scope of Android market in Korea is almost 10 times higher than iOS. This, it would be more efficient to either implement a universal project (RPG which share is high on both platforms) or focus only on Android users preferences.

The situation is similar in the Japanese market. The top-3 genres among iOS and Android users are: RPG, Puzzle, TCG (collectible card games). The RPGs are once again far ahead with 32% for iOS and 44% for Android.

The existing tendencies show high potential of the KingSlayer project and demand for mobile MMORPGs from growing credit worthy target audience.

The Japanese market is rightly considered as the largest one where a top game earns more than $2.5 million per day (the leading positions for Android and iOS present $1.5 million and $1 million respectively). Apart from that, the scope of the Android market has not advanced far in comparison with iOS because, unlike Korea, it is important to cover both markets.

The Chinese market shows a similar picture by genres. RPGs are leading again (28%) followed by TCG (26%) and strategies with arcades (14% apiece). However, unlike Japan and Korea the iPad segment does not look bad where a top game earns almost $70,000 per day. China has got the largest audience where the most popular application has got 350,000 downloads per day.

4. How does gamingblockchain economics work

in KingSlayer?

4.1. What is gaming economics? Let us first review what the gaming economics is in a nutshell. The gaming economics is modeling some of real economics in a role-playing game.

Depending on the depth of sophistication, the gaming economics is used to implement interaction satisfying the following rules with the help of mathematical model:

Competitiveness. The resources may be owned by a limited amount of players or even a single player.

Continuity. The virtual resources exist continuously and independently from the character being in the game.

Interrelationship. The resources may affect other players and other objects or may be affected by them. The value of the resource depends on the character’s ability to use it to create or acquire some effect.

Secondary market. The vital virtual resources may be created, exchanged, sold, and purchased.

Added value. The users may increase the value of virtual resources by customizing and upgrading them.

The main peculiarity of the gaming economics consists in the fact that it is consistently closed and does not overlap with the real economics.

The blockchain technology significantly expands the abilities of the gaming economics allowing using digital assets that:

4.2. Why do we use ETH blockchain? As of today, the undisputed leader among the platforms for decentralized application creation is Ethereum. Our choice is stipulated by the following factors:

• are stored not at a centralized server but in a distributed registerspread in peer-to-peer network;

• allow their owners to make operations on exchange and sale directlyand the right of possession is proven by possession of a closed keywith the use of cryptography (that is why such assets are often calledcrypto assets);

• can be used not only in the gaming economics but have value outsideof the game world.

The main target audience of gamers aimed by the KingSlayer project is in Asia-Pacific region where ETH has got its own developed ecosystem;

The ETH growth vector is initially aimed at practical application and implementation of “smart economics” by means of digital asset management process automation with the use of smart contracts within distributed network.

4.3. KGS tokenThe base of any economy is its internal currency. KingSlayer uses a ERC-20 KGS utility token as its currency.

The KGS token has the following functions:

• A means of payment for in-game purchases including tokenizedin-game items (see detailed description in Chapter 4.4);

• A unit for formation of prize pool in PvP battles and clan clashes(see detailed description in Chapter 4.5);

• Remuneration for developing partners.

In order to escalate the engagement of players into KingSlayer, the following KGS token rewards are available for specific actions and achievements.

Any player can get rewards for some simple actions on a daily basis (e.g.: Find a Sky Airship and approach it).

The rewards are also available for some achievements:

• Quest completion,• New level acquiring,• Castle capture

The acquired tokens may be used by players both in gaming process (to hire and boost their characters, buy in-game items, etc.) and transfer to the player’s wallet.

4.4. Tokenized in-game items

In terms of virtual in-game items trade, the KingSlayer game is based upon blockchain economics ideas.

The blockchain economics allows “digitalizing” the real world notions (e.g. right of possession of a certain item or asset) in the form of tokens. A token is a digital conventional unit. The value of this unit will be stipulated by what the creator has linked it to. This can be a balance between a digital account, right of possession for some item of the real world, decision making power, and share in the project profit.

The blockchain allows possessing and safely exchanging tokens without participation of third parties through decentralized network where the participants do not have to trust each other. The distributed data storage method in the blockchain guarantees security and stability of data on token features and their owners. Smart contracts allow creating self-executed agreements with the presence of tokens.

The virtual in-game items in KingSlayer will be tokenized, i.e. they will be created, stored and traded within the blockchain. With that, a specific item can only be used by its owner in the gaming process, i.e. the owner of the token in the blockchain corresponding to that in-game item.

The uniqueness of the blockchain consists in that the right of possession is technically implemented and comes down to possession of a closed key to the address where a token is stored.In this way, the players will get a direct access to their in-game items outside of the game world. That means that in-game items may be purchased, sold or transferred from one owner to another through the blockchain. On the top of that, the items in the gaming process will be used by the owners as intended in accordance with those features designed during their creation. To do that, a player has to link his gaming account to Ethereum network address where his in-game items are stored. The virtual in-game items will be created with the use of smart contracts. For each unique item, a smart contract will be drafted which contains the following:

• Unique gaming features of the item (required to beused in the gaming process),

• Items quantity (emission),• Information on items owners.

In other works, such a smart contract will release a limited set of tokens that correspond to a specific in-game item with unique features. Owning a token in the blockchain means possession of an in-game item. The owner may use it in the gaming process or transfer, or sell by means of blockchain. Cryptography, distributed and decentralized nature of the blockchain will guarantee secure storage of the in-game item and safe operations on its purchase and sale.

The blockchain technology and unique identification make the in-game items exclusive. The peculiarities of data storage in the blockchain empower the in-game items with their own history which may contribute to their additional collector value. For instance, the item costs may be affected over time by the achievements of their previous owners.

4.5. Clan clashes and PVP battles

The distinctive feature of KingSlayer is its ability not only to spend free time but interact with real people and compete with each other.

To implement such interaction, KingSlayer offers functionality based on tight connection of the gaming process and smart contracts which will allow the players and entire clans to participate in battles between each other. While doing that, the battle conditions and prize pool will be formed by the players themselves.

With the help of smart contracts, the conditions of battle and victory are definitely determined before the battle and are not subject to changes or double interpretation. Apart from the battle conditions, the smart contract accepts and stores contributions and fees from the participants which form the prize pool and then automatically transfers the winnings to the victor after the battle is over.

A player willing to organize a PvP battle or a battle between clans has to set the following settings through the KingSlayer interface:

• Participants (you can choose a specific opponent or create anopen proposal for battle),

• Battle settings,• Win conditions,• Participation fee (KGS tokens and in-game items may be

used as a fee),• Allow spectators.

After the opponent accepts the battle settings, the API will form a smart contract code and deploy it in the Ethereum network.

Then, the participants will transfer their fees to the smart-contract balance. If the spectators are allowed in the battle, they can place bets on the battle outcome that will also be transferred to the smart contract balance. The spectator fees may be made only in KGS tokens.

After the fees and bets have been transferred to the smart contract balance, the players may battle in the KingSlayer gameplay. Upon completion, the battle outcome will be transferred to the smart contract which will make the payout of the prize pool to the winner and distribute the bets between the spectators who guessed the battle outcome right.

6. Virtual Game Platform

The KingSlayer in-game blockchain economics has a great potential based upon the use of blockchain solutions and engagement of significant player base.

Our next goal is to develop the Virtual Game Platform and engage partner developers.

Currently, the KingSlayer game world has already been developed. It is a result of a 3-year work of our team that contains more than 120 storylines and sophisticated design and gameplay. You can experience the KingSlayer in our MVP.

At the moment, our team is actively engaged in implementation of the cryptoeconomics into the game process. A significant part of functionality will be implemented by means of smart contracts in the Ethereum blockchain. Virtual Game Platform API is designed for interaction of the gameplay and the blockchain. It will contain methods for deployment of required smart contracts and further interaction with them.

8. MonetizationThe goal of our ICO is to engage resources for further development of solutions for Ethereum blockchain integration to implement blockchain economics in MMORPG KingSlayer and further development of Virtual Game Platform. In the course of the KingSlayer initial coin offering, ERC-20 KGS tokens on Ethereum platform will be available for purchase. The KGS tokens will be released with a limited emission of 500,000,000 tokens with 304,309,000 tokens intended for distribution during the initial coin offering while the remaining part will be frozen until the full release of the game. The KGS tokens that will not be distributed during the initial coin offering will be destroyed.
