AEO CORPORATE VENDOR MANUAL 2

The below guidelines cover fold requirements, pack types, packaging requirements, polybags, labels and carton requirements for all wholly owned and license partner orders. The Vendor Compliance department must approve any deviation from these standards prior to shipment. Noncompliance will result in chargebacks to the vendor/factory.

PACK TYPES TYPE OF PACKS As defined on your Purchase Order detail lines BULK (BLK) A carton can ONLY contain one style, color, size and SKU per carton. No bundling of BLK items

1. Standard carton quantities for BLK cartons must be established and maintained for the entire SKU. Only one exception / partial carton is permitted per SKU per destination.

2. Exception / Partial Carton -The partial / end of run units of a single BLK SKU. a. End of run carton can be larger or smaller in quantity and size established for each SKU.

Example SKU 1: Total Quantity: 101 units Standard Carton Quantity: 10 units per carton (9 total Cartons = 90 units) Exception Carton Quantity: 11 unit per carton (1 carton = 11 units)

Example SKU 2: Total Quantity: 109 units Standard Carton Quantity: 10 units per carton (10 total Cartons = 100 units) Exception Carton Quantity: 9 unit per carton (1 carton = 9 units)

b. If the exception / Partial carton needs to be smaller than the established carton size for each SKU, it must meet minimum the dimensions. If you need additional length and width, it should be added to accommodate the product, but height should be at the minimum of 4”. Select the smallest sized carton for the product.

i. This carton is approved to be under packed and underweight, but the chargebacks will only be waived if you are using the smallest sized carton to accommodate your product

PREPACK (PPK) A carton can ONLY contain 1 style, color, multiple size, and multiple SKUs as dictated by the PO size scale which cannot be altered. 1 pack per carton

1. Broken packs are NOT acceptable 2. Each PPK is to be individually polybagged in a clear polybag and secured to ensure the PPK stays intact 3. Each unit in the PPK will be ticketed with a price ticket that displays the correct individual SKU. A separate carton SKU number

will be given to the PPK to represent all the individual SKUs in the pack 4. Footwear and Licensee PO’s that contain PPK’s MUST always be packed 1 pack per carton. Please work with your AEO

Merchant to adjust PPK quantity or change to bulk if this cannot be met

INNER PACK (IPK) An inner pack contains multiple packs (PPKs) per carton. Inner packs should be utilized for small quantity PPKs to optimize packaging

1. Each PPK is to be individually polybagged and secured to ensure the PPK stays intact 2. Inner Packs are acceptable without prior approval from the Vendor Compliance team 3. If this type of packaging is abused or deemed unnecessary, chargebacks will be issued 4. Inner Packs must be used if you cannot meet our optimized packaging guidelines in the smallest minimum carton size 5. When packing as an inner pack, please use the largest carton possible while staying within all AEO packaging requirements

INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENT EXCEPTIONS For small International shipments, see the below document. Master cartons are NOT ACCEPTABLE for STORE, WEB, CANADA, CANADA WEB, EFASHION PE, EFASHION PE HOLD and CRM purchase orders

Split Shipments Two Cases per SKU (Split Shipment)

When AEO writes a PO to ship to 222, 707, 2922 or 2907 the intent is for our two US distribution centers to receive the same quantity of units. Unit quantities should be split evenly between cases while following AEO’s carton requirements See exception below for store type Unsubscribed. For split shipments, 2 partial cases per SKU are allowed because the units are being split evenly Example #2 each carton is considered the Exception /Partial and should have the sticker

Exception to the above rule are POs with Store Type Unsubscribed. When a PO is written for store type Unsubscribed do not split units; goods will all go to one distribution center.

FOLD REQUIREMENTS FOLD GUIDE

Fold codes are based on how goods will be displayed in store/web Vendor Compliance cannot approve changes to the fold code. Please contact your AEO Production or AEO Merchant partner if

you feel a different fold code would work better for the product or the current fold cannot be executed by the factory

See tech pack for all other on product marketing specifications. Any questions should be directed to your Production/Design partner AEO and Aerie Fold Guide

PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS Unit per Carton Recommendation (UPCR) SKUs For US Shipments, bulk and web, we have a unit per carton recommendation (UPCR) for certain department and SKU. If listed on your PO print, you must follow the UPCR for that SKU while taking into consideration carton sizes, weights and split shipments. If no recommendation is listed for a particular size, please proceed with normal packaging guidelines.

Split Shipments Notes: If the ordered quantity is less than the recommendation, evenly split the SKU

If you cannot pack at least two cartons of the UPC recommendation, evenly split the SKU

Image shows how recommendation will appear on the PO print.

Example XXS

• Order Quantity: 39 units • Recommendation: None listed • Packing: Follow normal packaging and maximize shipment density Example XS

• Order Quantity: 178 units • Recommendation: 34 units per carton • Packing: 5 carton of 34 units, 1 carton of 8 units Example S

• Order Quantity 499 units • Recommendation: 34 units per carton • Packing: 14 carton of 34 units and 1 carton of 20 units Example M:

• Order Quantity: 559 units • Recommendation: None Listed • Packing: Follow normal packaging and maximize shipment density

Maximizing Carton Density (for SKUs without a UPCR) The packaging requirements are in place to maximize the density per cubic meter of product shipped. This will reduce transportation and handling costs and minimize wasted space.

1. Vendor Packaging should maximize density of product while maintaining the AEO shipment requirements. Be thoughtful and flexible in your approach to carton packing.

All SKU Packaging Guidelines 1. Source multiple carton sizes to account for size variations. One box size does not typically fit an entire assortment

Example: Packed 40 units per carton for sizes XS, Small, & Medium in Box 'A' Packed 36 units per carton for sizes Large & XL in Box 'A' (Decreased units to accommodate larger sized items)

2. Source single wall corrugate a. See Carton Specifications and Standards section for more details

3. Cartons are to be packed with only ¼ inch or less of dead space.

4. Do not use filler unless the product will be damaged without it. If filler is used, approval from Vendor Compliance is required. 5. Exception / Partial

a. The exception/partial carton will contain the end of run units of a single SKU or the only units for the SKU if the PO is small.

b. The exception/partial carton can be larger or smaller in quantity and size than what is established for the SKU. For example, if you have 102 units of medium, consider packaging with 4 cartons of 20 units and a partial carton of 22 units.

i. Minimum height required is 4 inches to allow room for carton label ii. This carton is approved to be under packed and underweight but the chargebacks will only be waived if the

smallest sized carton to accommodate the product is being used c. Exception/partial cartons are NOT required. If possible, incorporate the units into other cartons evenly d. All exception/partial cartons must be marked with a “Partial” sticker on the top right hand corner of the minor side 1

i. Partial stickers can only be used on exception/partial cartons ii. If the PO is going to 1 DC, 1 exception/partial is allowed per sku

iii. If the PO is going to 2 DC/split shipments, 2 exception/partial cartons per sku (one for each DC) e. Source cartons based off over run size and quantity

6. Pack in neat stack arrangement 7. Reduce mounding effects

f. Mounding of product can be reduced by rotating goods within the carton. See below examples for mounding reduction Example Mounding:

Examples of ways to reduce mounding:

SHIPPING CARTON BARCODE LABELS FOR ALL CHANNELS All shipping cartons must be labeled with the system generated barcodes from AEO PLM printed on 4x6 self-adhesive labels. Labels are at the vendor’s expense. Instructions on how to print these labels are located in the Packing List section of the manual. The system generated barcode labels are PO/SKU/Quantity specific and MUST be applied to the cartons with the matching content. Once the carton barcode labels are printed and the packing list is COMPLETE and APPROVED, place the labels on the cartons using the below requirements: Barcode label must be:

Print using a thermal printer using 4x6 labels that are durable, scratch-resistant, and smudge-free and resist water, dirt, dust and grease. They should never be printed on plain paper or inserted into a plastic sleeve

Visible, readable, and scannable. No part of this label should be cut off

Be placed in the center of the minor side of the carton where the major side markings are to the right, 1.5 inches from the bottom of the carton

Applied without any wrinkles or marks running through the barcode

NOT be covered by any other labeling or tape

If the shipping carton barcode label does not fit on the minor side of the carton, it may be folded over from the top to the side of the carton as long as the barcode is not folded or covered by security tape. The information on the scannable barcode should not be placed on the edges of the carton

Please note: when you ship via Air Direct, the Ship To on the PO will show as 222 but the packing list and shipping carton barcode label will show as 2999. This is accurate and there will be no chargeback

Note: Conveyers move quickly, therefore high quality printing and barcodes are of utmost necessity. Un-scannable labels create significant issues and delays for our distribution centers as all cartons need to be relabeled so they can be received. It is the vendor / factory responsibility to be conducting a physical review of the carton barcode label to check for label integrity. The printing should have no breaks or marks within the printed data – this is a common issue that we see and it is related to printer issues. CARTON MARKINGS FOR ALL CHANNELS

Carton marking / additional labels outlined below are mandatory for purchase orders to identify the carton contents

Font and size must be proportional to the carton size and must be readable

If PO is “Test”, “Extract” or “Partial” each carton is required to be marked with the appropriate 1x3” label with the word “Test", "Extract" or “Partial” printed on it. Placement is in the top right hand corner of minor side 1 (same side as the carton barcode label).
