GATTED COMMUNITY:- a gated community is a form of residential community or housing estate containing strictly-controlled entrances for pedestrians, bicycles, and automobiles, and often characterized by a closed perimeter of walls and fences. Gated communities usually consist of small residential streets and include various shared .amenities.

SITE :-•parsi colony, near gandhisagar lake, Nagpur. •It is a gated community .•Surronded by 32m high brick wall.•Two entrancces – guarded by two private guards.

TPOGRAPHY:-

•flat on north side• slopy toward the lake on south side.

HISTORY:-Staying in nagpur from more than 150 years.Migratted from gujrat , hyderabad and other parts of india.Lands to them were donatted by JAMSHEDJI TATA.Naw they pay rent and stay into the community. Non parsis are not allowed to stay inside into it. A parsee married to non parsis are also not allowed to stay into it.Colony consists of chawl, apartments , fire temple, priest house ,small panchayat , dharamshala , community gathering area etc.few apartments are 70 years old and few are 40 years.

CLIMATE:-•Close proximity to lake•Vegetation into the site .•Less density of building•Free air movment into the site.•Planning allows the air pass through the vegetation.• pleasant microclimate throughout the year. FAMILY STRUCTURE:-• Nuclear family – most of the family have 2 members only.• More than 80% of the family consists of member of age group 40- 60 years.

SOCIETY:-• 100% litracy, highly educatted. • Speaks gujrati , hindi , english. • Cultural as well as highly modern society of india.• Like to gather on community occasions ,drinks are a part of their party culture.• Equal position of men and womens.• Do not like to socialize with rest of the indian community but highly socialize

among themselves.

OCCUPATION:-MEN-works in high profilled govt jobs , private jobs, retired .WOMEN- teacher in tata parsi school, housewife, retired
