Vermont is the second largest state in the New England. Maine is the biggest.

Vermont’s nickname is called the “Green Mountain State” because the state is all green. Forests are in the mountains.

Vermont is landlocked.

Stowe is the largest skiing resort in Vermont. The village of Stowe is surrounded by mountains, including Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s highest mountain. The ski lift was invented at Stowe Mountain.

Covered bridges are the most popular attraction in Vermont.

In the early 1900s and the late 1800s they built the bridges. There are 114 covered bridges in this small state. The cover of the bridge protects it from the snow, rain, and hail. The wood on the bridge won’t rot because the top protects it.

AGRICULTUAL PRODUCT

Vermont leads the country with producing maple syrup. They attach tubes to the trees to suck out the maple syrup. They usually do it in late winter, early spring.

Why is the nickname of Vermont the Green Mountain State? Because there is so much forest. You should go to Vermont because you can hike up Mount Mansfield and go to the Stowe resort.
