Verizon Thinkfinity Integration Framework


You are a classroom teacher who has designed a lesson on area and circumference of circles. Your lesson plan includes students working with manipulatives, then using the Circle Tool interactive on the computer, and finally completing a worksheet to reinforce their skills.

As you can see, there are three different learning activities described which are all part of one lesson plan. A Verizon Thinkfinity Integration Plan is designed to focus on only the learning activity that uses the Verizon Thinkfinity resource.

Let’s take a few minutes to become familiar with the resource, Circle Tool. Because we are already aware of the components of the Integration Plan, we can use the Integration Plan Template to provide the support we need to integrate the resource successfully into our lesson.

1.How will you reach all students? Consider Learning Styles (Gardner); Work Styles (independent, pair, leader, follower, active, quiet, etc); Ability Levels (special needs, low, average, high, gifted)

Basic level students will select circles with a radius equal to a whole number; advanced students will select circles with a radius ending in a fractional part. The difficulty level can be adjusted for even greater challenge as needed. Students will work in pairs. High interest students may try additional circles.
