1. Introduction
1.1. Overview
This section describes the Verizon LTE LBS OTA Stand-alone GPS test pack. This test pack is implemented as defined in “Section 3: Radiated Performance Tests” of the Verizon Wireless LTE LBS Performance Test plan.
1.2. Installing the Software
The test pack software installation is available from Spirent. Contact your local Spirent Sales representative to order the test pack.
The test suites are distributed by Verizon Wireless. Contact Verizon Wireless to obtain the latest suites for the test plan.
The test pack is secured by a TestDrive LTS password option and requires the Verizon LTE LBS Test Pack 2 option to be enabled.
1.2.1. Installing Test Pack Software
To install the Test Pack software:
1. If necessary, shut down the TestDrive LTS program on the LTS Controller PC.
2. Insert the “Verizon Wireless LTE-LBS OTA” CD on the ULTS Controller PC. If you do not have a CD, contact Spirent Support to download it from the Spirent FTP site.
3. On the CD, open the OTA folder and double click on setup.exe to install the software.
1.2.2. Uninstalling Test Pack Software
To uninstall the Test Pack software:
1. From the ULTS Controller PC, select Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs.
2. Select Verizon Wireless LTE LBS OTA Standalone GPS Test Pack.
3. Click the Remove button to uninstall.

1.2.3. Upgrading Test Pack Software
To upgrade the Test Pack software:
1. If necessary, shut down TestDrive LTS on the Controller PC.
2. Refer to the steps in Section 1.2.2 to uninstall the Test pack.
3. Refer to the steps in Section 1.2.1 to install the test pack.
1.3. Test Suite Organization
The Verizon Wireless LTE LBS OTA Stand-alone GPS Test Pack installation installs default test suites, as shown in Figure 1-1. The installed test suites are read-only; any changes to the parameters are not saved in the default suites.

1.4. Test Case Details
The Verizon Wireless LTE LBS OTA Stand-alone GPS tests are pre-configured according to the requirements defined in the Verizon Wireless LTE LBS Performance Test Plan. These tests are often used for device approvals by Verizon Wireless; to test under standard conditions, we recommend that you do not modify any of the test parameters during test execution.

1.4.3. Parameter Groups
Figure 1-2 shows the various parameter groups available for the tests. The values of the parameters under each group are set to the Test Conditions specified in the Verizon LTE LBS Performance Compliance Test Plan. You should not change the values of the parameter without understanding the purpose of the test parameter. For detailed information on the parameters, refer to the Test Parameter sections below.

2. Test Case Execution
2.1. Instrument Connectivity
1. Launch the TestDrive LTE application by double clicking the icon shown in Figure 2-1.

2. In TestDrive, select Configure>Instruments.
3. For Platform Configuration, select 8100-B Series.
4. Ensure that the following instruments are selected and the addresses are set as shown in the table below.

5. Test the connectivity to all the instruments required for the execution of Test Plan by clicking the Test button.
6. When the Instrument Connectivity test is complete, click OK and close the Instrument Configuration window.
7. Launch the TestDrive OTA application by double-clicking the icon shown in Figure 2-2.

8. In TestDrive, select Configure>Instruments.

9. Ensure that the following instruments are selected and the addresses are set as shown in the table below.

10. To test the connectivity to all the instruments required for the execution of the Test Plan, click the Test button.
11. When the Instrument Connectivity test is complete, click OK and close the Instrument Configuration window.
2.2. Creating a UE File for the DUT
1. Launch TestDrive LTS on the Controller PC.
2. In the File Cabinet, expand the User Equipment folder.
3. Double-click Sample.ue. A Sample UE File window displays, as shown in Figure 2-3.

4. Select File>Save As and save the file with a name relevant to the DUT.
5. Click the UE Automation tab, as shown in Figure 2-4.

2.2.1. Using the LBS Rover Android Application
If you are creating the file with the Rover Android Application instead of the UTS Driver, follow the instructions below.
1. Select the UE Automation tab.
2. Select the Enable LBS Rover option, as shown in Figure 2-5.

3. Save the UE File by selecting File>Save.

2.3. LBS Rover Applications on Android Devices
This section provides information on installing and configuring LBS Rover applications on Android devices.
The following applications are provided by the WITS Corporation:
• LBS Rover
• Trigger Service
• UDP Traffic Generator
To obtain these applications, contact Verizon Wireless.
2.3.1. Installing the Applications
There are two ways to install applications on the device:
1. The “adb” Command
2. The “Application Installer”
2.3.1.1 Installing Applications using the adb Command
1. Install Android SDK.
2. Use the "adb install" command to install the required application on the Android device. For example, enter: adb install MyApp.apk.
2.3.1.2 Installing Applications using the App Installer
1. Download and install an Application Installer app on the Android device.
2. Copy the .apk file of the required application onto the device memory card.
3. After the Application Installer app is has been installed on the device, the .apk files on the memory card display.
4. Select and install the required application.
NOTE: These applications have only been verified on select devices with the Android Operating System. The installation procedures may vary depending on mobile implementation.

2.3.2. Configuration Details
2.3.2.1 Trigger Service Application
1. To keep the Trigger Service application running in the background, select the Run this application when device starts option.
2. SC DLL Host Address: 192.168.0.35
3. SC DLL Host Trigger Port: 15116
4. To save the configuration, click the Save button.
2.3.2.2 UDP Traffic Generator
Test Platform Connections Settings
1. SC DLL Host Address: 192.168.0.35
2. SC DLL Host Port: 5050
3. Click HB Start.
4. To keep the UDP Traffic Generator running in the background, select the Run this application when device starts option.
Upload Server Configuration Settings
1. Upload Host Address: 192.168.0.70
2. Upload Host Port: 5020
3. Upload Throughput: 1000 (optional)
4. Local Port:5030
5. Click UDP Start.
6. Click Save Configuration.
2.4. Installing Load Generator on the Application Server
1. On the Controller PC, open Remote Desktop Connection.
2. Connect to the Application Server IP address: 192.168.0.70.
3. From the Verizon Wireless LTE-LBS CD-ROM, copy the Load Generator Installer package to the Application Server.
4. On the Application Server, run the setup.exe file and follow the instructions for installation.
5. Reboot the Application Server.

2.5. Executing the Test Suites
1. On the Controller PC, launch the following applications:
a. TestDrive OTA
b. Spirent OTA Application Server
c. Spirent OTA Router
2. Browse to the location on the Controller PC where the Verizon LTE LBS OTA Standalone Test Scripts were copied and select the appropriate test suite.
3. Click the Execute Suite button as shown in Figure 2-6.

4. The Execute Automatic Test window displays, as shown in Figure 2-7.

5. Select an appropriate Results Name folder. This is where the results of the test execution will be saved.
6. Select an appropriate User Equipment file. This is the same file created in Section 1.4.4.
7. In the Test Execution section, select from the available options.
8. In the Air-interface configuration section, select the Use these settings for all tests option and set the following parameters:
a. Technology: LTE
b. Operating Band: LTE Band XIII
c. Downlink EARFCN: Any value between 5180 and 5279

9. Start test execution by clicking the Run button.
10. TestDrive OTA connects to all the instruments and prompts you to reset the UE.
11. Reset the UE and click OK.
12. Let the test execution continue.
13. Depending on the UE file setting, TestDrive may prompt you to connect using the Connection Manager at the beginning of the UDP bi-directional transfer.
