Release 8.2 offers a legal hold authentication mechanism, in which System Managers can limit access to a legal hold confirmation page only to the intended custodian. Only the intended custodian, who must have a valid LDAP account, will be able to see the notice.

Refer to Legal Hold User Guide: Legal Hold Authentication for more information.

Note: The System Manager must ensure that the required custodians exist in Active Directory before enabling LDAP authentication for legal holds. Refer to the Identification and Collection Guide: Importing Custodians to Your Data Map for details on adding or importing custodians.

We’ve improved the User Interface to serve the needs of both Early Case Assessors and Linear Reviewers, simplifying identification of relevant items. Hit-to-hit navigation is streamlined to make actions like tagging and foldering faster. Each attachment has its own row, making them easier to see.

All items returned from your search will be hits: the “HIT” icon is no longer used.

In list mode, each item has its own row. The UI has been designed to deliver more items per screen.

The collapsible Filter Pane (shown collapsed) leaves more room on the screen for item information.

Items are still grouped by family. The UI makes a clear distinction between family documents, and...

items that are hits, with the option to bring in the family documents that are associated with the item.

Family documents that are not hits appear grayed out unless the reviewer chooses to bring them in.

Family documents that are partial hits are indicated with a red exclamation point.

The score bar is new with version 8.0. It visually indicates the score of the parent message and the family score.

Docs and Items Buttons - Toggle Filters between document family or item counts.

Power Selector - Allows your selections be retained as you navigate through multiple pages of results.

Number of items selected - Shows the total number of items selected, even when they are on multiple pages.

Bring in Families - Using this control will bring in all the family members in your search.

Bring in Complete Family - Use this button to bring in the family members for the line item.

Refresh Filter - The green arrows will turn orange when a filter needs to be updated. Click the button to refresh.

Collapsible Filter Pane - Your search results will return with the filter pane collapsed. Click the arrow to expand it.

8.x

Bulk Tagging - Multi-screen wizard has been replaced by a single input screen.

How do the changes affect previous searches? If users need hit information from background searches run in previous versions, they need to be run again after upgrading to 8.x.

The New Navigation Bar: System and case management functions are now distributed across several modules within the horizontal navigation bar.

Where do I create and manage cases? Cases are created (with system administration rights) from All Cases > New Case, or from the drop-down menu on the navigation bar, select Create a new case.

Where can I view overall case status? Case summary information is now available in three views: Review status for a single case, overall case status, and at the system level (all cases). For case administrators: Case Home > Review Dashboard, and for system administrators: Case Home, and All Cases > Dashboard.

Where do I run searches? The Search & Analysis tab is now the Analysis & Review module.

What about other functions? The next two pages show how System and Case Administration views and functions map from version 6.x to 7.x.

Why do my menus look different? Your menu options reflect the user rights assigned to you and the state of your case.
