Follow the steps given below to install Vembu VMBackup:

· Go to Downloads and choose the tab ‘Vembu VMBackupʼ.· Download the Windows Client installer.

· Run the downloaded .msi installer to deploy the client agent in the machine.

· Run the installer and click next on the Welcome window.

· The installer will check for the following packages based on the OS type (32 bit or 64bit) and will proceed installing them (if not installed previously).

o Visual C++ 2008 redistributable packages x86

o Visual C++ 2008 redistributable packages x64o Visual C++ 2013 redistributable packages x64o Visual C++ 2015 redistributable packages x86

· Click on Next to proceed with your installation.

· Read and agree to the Vembu Software license agreement and click on Next.

· The installation wizard will ask to enter Vembu VMBackup ID. By default it will be yoursystem name but it is recommended that you give your email ID, since it is globallyunique. Click next.

· Choose the installation option you want to proceed with.· Opting for Typical will automatically choose an optimized configuration for your install.

Proceed with Custom if you want to change the default values. Click on next whendone.

Note: It is recommended to choose custom installation.

· Proceeding with custom installation, will lead to choose installation type. This willallow you to install Vembu VMBackup:

o As a Windows applicationo As a Windows service

By default, install as a Windows service will be selected.

· Proceeding Next will let user configure log on account for Windows service. You caneither:

· Log-on in Local system account or· Log-on as a specific user (usually a user with administrator privileges).

· Proceed to choose installation location. Which is by default, set as '<OS installed

· Proceed to provide the login credentials for Webconsole access which by default set asuser name: 'admin' and password: 'admin'. User can also modify webserver port, but itis recommended to leave it with the default choice unless the port is assigned for someother process already.

· Proceed to choose Program folder and then choose shortcut icons if required. Oncedone choosing all, verify the details provided in final window shown and proceed withinstallation.

· Final step of wizard after installation will ask you whether to:o Start Vembu BDR server ando Open Vembu BDR Web Console.

· You can either leave the options selected and click Finish. Or chose to UnCheck themand start later.
