OFFICIAL BUSINESS | VATSIM ASIA REGION REPORT Q4 2019 Page 1 of 37 OFFICIAL BUSINESS VATSIM ASIA REGION REPORT Q4/2019 Executive Summary 2019 has been another successful year, if not the most successful so far, in terms of ATC training, new member registrations, online presence and vACC - Division organization. VATSIM Asia is closing the year 2019, with Q4,2019 report and an annual statistic overview. Stability and uniformity across the Divisions with increased member signup, many new ATC rated members, ATC training taking place at a large scale, as the highlights of this year. VATWA is fully working as a Division and focuses on the structure of vACCs, primarily India. Small but steady steps. Situation is monitored. Still there are some positions under recruitment. VATSEA’s best year 2019, with countless hours of online ATC training, new ATC and “Light up VATSEA”, an innovative idea to light up all FIRs with focus city airports. A project/event which is regularly organized. Now, with a full staff board, we stay tuned for more! VATROC continues the tradition with online events with neighboring FIRs, VATKOR too, and member training at some degree. VATJPN has showed strong online presence, together with VATSEA and VATPRC. VATKOR amongst the leading Divisions with strong online presence, with 2 International, 6 Domestic events and an Iron Mic award. Operations started also on Discord, shutting down TS3 server. There have been regular events across the Region in collaboration with neighboring FIRs, as well as new member welcome events and sign ups. VATJPN pilot training department fully working and training is provided regularly. A milestone of 110 pilot rated members (P1-P5) achieved! Within year 2019, the general activity of the Region has increased. This year has been a milestone for Asia and for all Divisions. It is essential to remain united and stay as a strong team to achieve goals and this is what the Divisions has showed to a large extent. All members have received membership retention and guidance locally or by Regional staff in a timely manner. We would like to heart warmly wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Executive Summary

2019 has been another successful year, if not the most successful so far, in terms of ATC training, new member registrations, online presence and vACC -

Division organization. VATSIM Asia is closing the year 2019, with Q4,2019 report and an annual statistic overview. Stability and uniformity across the Divisions

with increased member signup, many new ATC rated members, ATC training taking place at a large scale, as the highlights of this year. VATWA is fully working

as a Division and focuses on the structure of vACCs, primarily India. Small but steady steps. Situation is monitored. Still there are some positions under

recruitment. VATSEA’s best year 2019, with countless hours of online ATC training, new ATC and “Light up VATSEA”, an innovative idea to light up all FIRs with

focus city airports. A project/event which is regularly organized. Now, with a full staff board, we stay tuned for more! VATROC continues the tradition with

online events with neighboring FIRs, VATKOR too, and member training at some degree. VATJPN has showed strong online presence, together with VATSEA

and VATPRC. VATKOR amongst the leading Divisions with strong online presence, with 2 International, 6 Domestic events and an Iron Mic award. Operations

This Quarter VATSIM Asia had 639 new records signed up. Slightly increased since last year’s equivalent quarter.

1.0 Region Activity

Increased activity in comparison with Q4,2018 and Q3 2019. Events organized frequently, ATC training takes place on regular basis.

Increased ATC training sessions at VATSEA, VATJPN, VATKOR and VATPRC Divisions in comparison with year 2017-2018.

3.0 Operational Projects

Please see the attached Division Reports and corresponding data. There have been discussions with the Divisions to establish a team of

members to provide ATC to least known places and to explore other areas and airports of the Region. Events and other activities may take place.

DIVISION OVERVIEW

Q4 2019 saw a steady flow of traffic and events held throughout the division

VATSEA is held its second Light Up South East Asia event on 21st December 2019.

VATSEA has also set up a new squawk range system to allow a larger set of squawks made available to the vACCs. This will allow the duplicate squawk issues to end due to a limited range set

previously.

Events In this quarter, we have held several events, including the “Chengdu Live 2019” event; the “Chengdu Lhasa City Link” event; the “World Flight 2019” event; the “Xi’an Kunming City Link” event; the “Chengdu Guiyang City Link” event; the “Shanghai Fly-in & out” event; the “Kunming Shenzhen City Link” event; the “Shenzhen Fuzhou City Link” event; the “Dalian Fly-in & out” event; and the “City Link Qingdao– Busan” event with VATKOR. All of those events we held/participated were pretty successful.
