ELA Container GmbH, a family run company, was founded in 1972. It came from an idea to convert transport containers into functional, mobile multipurpose rooms. ELA Container Offshore was set-up in 2014, as a response to the special needs of the offshore industry. The aim was to provide the offshore business with compact container modules.

Nowadays ELA has 600 employees, an international operation and has leased out

more than 23,000 mobile units throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Thanks to our long-term experience in building container solutions, we have succeeded in developing a wide range of container types especially designed for the offshore industry. The standard system, already meets most customer requirements.

The containers fulfil a wide range of individual needs and are equipped with a variety of facilities, meaning they can be used as:

The great advantage of our container solutions is that they can either be rented out for temporary use or bought, which gives the customer long-term flexibility.

corridor, which can be used to reach the single cabins, without getting wet feet. The 6.5 m² of floor space and separate bathroom offer a high level of comfort.

The 33 ft ELA Offshore PREMIUM PLUS Container offers the highest level of comfort. At 10m x 3m, it can be easily transported to any destination port on European roads. It comes with a built-in middle corridor and a cabin on both sides, which can be equipped according to customer requirements. It is possible to create an even bigger room by removing the side walls. This feature is often used to create communal dining rooms, accommodating up to 100 people or larger meeting and presentation rooms, if required.

Last but not least is the total weight of each container. At approximately 9.5 tons, it makes them the real lightweights

amongst all the other mobile offshore solutions on the market.

However, the general design of the individual container types is always the same. It is possible to use them as stand-alone solutions, but also combined into complex systems for every possible eventuality. The ELA Offshore ‘Plug & Play System’ makes it really easy to connect the individual modules together, as well as connect them to the on-board system. If more floor space is required, the containers can be stacked up to four units in height, in conjunction with our standardised 20 ft ELA Offshore Stairway Containers, giving safe access to the upper floors.

In addition to our smart container solutions, we are also well known for our extraordinary service. Fast, free and optimised 3D CAD planning for all requirements and providing a detailed quotation, in a very short time, is our standard procedure. For more extensive requests, we also offer integrated, complete potable and waste water systems, e-distribution hubs and foundations to spread the load on platforms. Offshore containers. In fact, we just completed our latest project in record time.

We successfully installed 26 ELA Offshore PREMIUM PLUS containers, eight stairway containers and various modules for potable water supply and waste water disposal in just three weeks.

Some 8 kilometres of cable were also laid from the container system to the ELA Offshore electrical distribution container to provide for the supply of energy, security facilities and communications.

In the near future, the entire facility will provide some 60 employees with temporary accommodation. These employees will also have access to laundry and drying facilities,

or just be able to spend their free time in the fitness or TV room. A modern kitchen with dining-room facilities caters for the physical well-being of the employees.

Maximum preparation means quicker final assembly

During production the containers are pre-assembled based on their final destination, so that they can be quickly connected on arrival. Appropriate markings show the erection sequence, which is immensely important for logistics. Thanks to the roadworthy size of all the individual modules, they can be easily transported to the port by truck where they can be loaded onto the ship.

After-sales service

The job for us does not end with the professional turnkey erection and installation of the containers. Customers will also find the company available for after-sales services such as extensions and repairs.

With some 530 units now rented out, ELA Offshore has made a name for itself in the offshore business. The concept of temporary container solutions in any form is becoming more and more popular with customers. The ability to react in the short term and offer effective solutions are a prerequisite, especially in the fast-moving offshore market.
