Description:This project features my own photography image and illustrates theconcept of color sampling while giving a spiritually uplifting message.

Objective:My first objective was to share a message of peace, joy and trusting inGod. I also wanted to renew those feelings in those who viewed mydesign and communicate to Christians and Non-Christians alike who haveread or been effected by the scriptures.

An additional objective in this project was to try out my photographyabilities and preform beautiful color sampling.

Process:For this project I quickly drew some rough sketches of what I wantedmy finished design to look like and began taking photography aroundcollege campus. Once I had gathered some quality photographs, I editedmy best images in Adobe Photoshop. From there, I began sampling myphotograph and extracting colors to use into my design. I then searchedfor a scripture I wanted to use for my main text. After choosing mytext content , I then used elements of style such as repeated elements, contrasting fonts, and white space to make my project come together.

Description:For this project I used all three Adobe Programs to create this doublesided full color brochure with original logo, written content, and layoutdesign.

Objective:I wanted to encourage participation in the fictitious business RidgeExtreme Bike Tours and advertise effectively to get men to join the nextyears featured competitions and rides.

Process:After brainstorming my layout, content options, and brochure styles,I decided to do the offset style brochure and sponsor a company forextreme mountain biking sports. I started with my logo in Illustratorand found appropriate fonts using Google Fonts. My images I retrievedform the Internet and edited in Photoshop to enhance the vibrancy andcontrast- one of the images I edited to later use as a text wrap imageusing the quick selection and refine edge tools in Photoshop. Once thatwas done, I placed all my images and my logo into a prepared InDesignfile and began styling the brochure. Finally, I added my body copy, mademy text wrap, and styled my text using paragraph styles to change theheadings and descriptions.

Description:For this project I crafted different logo designs for the same company. Iprovided three options to allow for client opinion and preference.

Objective:To create a logo to advertise bread for the company NutriOven andpromote it as a heart healthy, home baked bread company. I wanted toreach people who are interested in becoming more health aware andpurchasing healthy breads.

    Process:

First, I sketched out several ideas for what I wanted the business torepresent and the different styles I wanted to explore. Then I took thesketches to Illustrator and began using the shape and pen tools todigitize the logos I had sketched out. Once I had the illustration done,I began adding the title and subtitles using contrasting fonts, differentsizes, capitalization, and spacing from the Characters Pallet. I also applieddifferent color schemes and font pairings to each design to show moreoptions to a potential client.

Description:This project provides matching business cards for the letterhead aboveto make a complete stationery.

Objective:I wanted to create a matching business card that would work as acompanion to my company letter head (see previous page). Just asin my letterhead, I wanted to communicate RedLeafs abilities to giveprofessional and personable care to elderly seeking a retirement orassisted living home.

Process:Having previously created my logo in Adobe Illustrator, I was able tomove directly to my business card design. For the business card, I workedin Illustrator and started with a 3.5 x 2 document with two art boards. Iused my previous logo Illustrator file as the back side of my business cardand colored the background gray to give it dimension. For the front side,I used the same text styles that I used for my letterhead and right alignedthe phone, fax, and address while I enlarged the name and moved it tothe left side with the e-mail. I then utilized the line tool to separate to twogroups of information.

    Objective:

To display ability to create web pages and feature original logos in anonline format.

Process:In my HTML (Hyper Text Mark-Up Language) document, I coded in my

content and logo image. Once my HTML structure was complete, I createdan CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) document, saved it and immediatelylinked to my HTML file. From there I began to place coding into the CSS tochange font type, font color, background color, lists, header text, paddingand margin spacing, div styles, link styles, and image placement. My colorsused in this web page were selected directly from my logo using theeyedropper tool in Photoshop to extract the hex colors. I also made sureto validate my web page using online websites to guarantee there are noglitches and that my web page can be viewed on all browsers.

Description:This project is a black and white flier created to advertise a graduationleadership conference for newly graduating students.

Objective:I wanted to communicate how this professional conference will benefitand prepare graduates or students preparing to graduate to be leaders inthe world ahead. My target audience was young adults ages 22-30 and Iappealed to this audience by use of classic yet modern styles in this flier. Not only did I want to catch this audiences attention, I wanted to makesure my design advertised this in an appealing way so that students wouldwant to go to the conference to learn more about achieving a competitive

    edge in the business world.

Process:I began this project with rudimentary sketches that contained theelements I needed to include in the finished flier. I included space fortext, images, title and subtitle in each of my sketches as well as focusingon white space, balance and contrast. I then chose the design that Ithought was most effective in portraying my message and speaking to myappropriate audience. Taking the design to Adobe InDesign, I began todigitize the flier using the provided logo, text and image. Here I continuedto add appropriate detail, choose contrasting fonts, and fine tune thealignment and unity of the flier.

Description:This project was focused around creating a spiritual montage poster byblending two or more image and incorporating the use of typography.

Objective:I wanted to encourage and inspire LDS youth and potential missionariesto serve missions and emphasize how the gospel is continuing to spreadthroughout the world.

Process:Collecting images that I wanted to use in my design, I moved to Adobe

Photoshop to begin my project. I cropped by background image to 81/2 x 11 and overlaid it with a colored texture background. From thereI brought the images I wanted to blend into Photoshop, applied a layermask, and brushed the edges of the image until I reached my desiredeffect of subtle blending. I then moved on to create an visually appealingand legible text with color, size, blending modes and effects. I used ColorBalance and De-Saturation to selectively edit the colors of my backgroundimage and finally finished off my project by adding a border using theRectangle Tool and Layer Masks.

Description:This project was focused on creating a matching business card for theBelle Cosmetics & Beauty business letter head.

Objective:Again, I focused on creating a business card that would appeal toyounger to middle age women. I also wanted to repeat similar themes asrepresented on the letter head. This business card would likely come withpurchased beauty products to further advertise the company and supplycontact information for the future, so I wanted to make the informationand branding clear.

Process:I created this business card in Adobe Illustrator and made sure to mimicthe same branding I developed for my letter head. I used a standard sizeof 3 1/2 x 2 and the same paragraph styling on my letter head to featureon my business cards. Using the shape tool, I also reflected the samesimple gray shape concept as you find on my letter head. On the front ofthe business card, I displayed the logo, name, and contact information. On the flip side, I spotlighted the name of the sale associate, their phonenumber, and company name.
