There was a time when Granville Street was known as one of the world’s largest displays of neon. The streaks of passingcars fuse with the city lights in the still booming entertaiment district.

Stanley Park Rainforest

Science World

Built for the World Trade Expo in 1986 this landmark building is affectionately referred to as the “golf ball”. Seen in the early morning, the blue sky and city skyline reflect off the glass-like water in False Creek.



English Bay Inukshuk

Inukshuks were traditionally built as landmarks andnavigational aids in Canada’s north. This granitereproduction of a man stands overlooking Burrard Inlet at English Bay.



Lightning Storm, English Bay

On July 25, 2009, a rare lightning storm, combined with adramatic sunset, rivalled the yearly fireworks display at theCelebration of Light over English Bay.

Yaletown

Once an industrial area, now a vibrant upscale community. Yaletown is a distinct urban neighbourhood close to the centre of downtown. Seen from across False Creek the modern buildings reflect in the calm water.

Granville Island Marina is seen at twilight from the Burrard Street Bridge.
