School Council has decided to have a working bee on Sunday 6th October the day before

the students return to school on Monday 7th October. Hope you can come along and help.

A list of jobs and tools required was attached to the newsletter last week.

Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden

The work is really coming along at a cracking pace, the outside of the veranda is almost completed, the old vinyl flooring has been lifted, the plaster on the inside of the new wall has been completed and the plumbing and electrical work roughed in. The painter has been organised, the colours chosen for the walls, ceiling and windows. The kitchen cabinets should be installed in a couple of weeks. The front of the old building will be cleaned up, the drinking taps placed at the side of the building, the water tanks removed and as much of the old pipes etc removed. The outside area of this historic school building will also be repainted, e.g. windows, doors, finials and eaves, The garden area of this project will see the development of an Italian feel garden,

espaliered fruit trees, olive trees, herbs, tubs with lemon and lime trees, pizza oven (with

money donated from Dr. and Mrs. Hudson). Thank goodness for the creativity of Susie

who can envisage what needs to be carried out in this area.

PARENTS CLUB. A BIG Thank you to all those involved in the Mother’s Day stall. The stall raised in excess of $650.00, a great effort. We wish to thank families for their donations – including Jo Guard for her jewellery and the Kimel family for the donation of honey. Also thanks to Lee Butler for her jams. A huge thank you to the shop for allowing us to run the Mother’s Day stall from there. Thank you to all those other parents that helped run a fantastic Mother Day Stall.

Reading: Allie’s letter to the wolf in ‘The True Story

of The Three Little Pigs’

Dear Alexander T Wolf,

I am very sorry to hear that you

have been framed and I would lend

you a cup of sugar!

You seem like a very nice wolf and

you only sneezed accidently! You are

a lot scarier in the 3 little pigs,

sorry to say that, but you are nicer

in your version.

You know I would be angry if someone

told my grandma to sit on a pin. I

would be furious! But it was not a

good thing to try to blow a pig down

to the ground dead like a doornail!

Maybe getting the cops would be

easier? Or maybe just walking away

because that will handle things

better? Or maybe just ask someone

else down the road that might lend

you some sugar.

I know if you came to mine I would

give you sugar.

I would give you 2 cups just in

case!

Kind regards,
