The format of the material shall follow these pointers:
• Unit Picture related to topic/s.• Overview/Introduction - discuss the importance of
topic in real life situation particularly particularly in your area to localize and contextualize the concept
• 4As and 1C conformation:
![Page 6: Validation Form .Ppt.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022033102/577c7d181a28abe0549d5924/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Activity/ies: Activity should be leading to the topic to be discussed. Let the learners engage in the situation and the activity so that they will experience the problem inside/outside the classroom in relation to the lesson.
• Analysis: Series of suggested questions to be used by the teacher to elicit /draw out idea/s from the students towards the discussion of the lesson.

• Abstraction: Give them examples: easy, average, and difficult items before giving them the tasks application. Sum up the lesson and ask them the concluding statement about the lesson
• Application: This must be situational and resources must be in place/area as agreed upon.
• Closure: The parting statement or task that will help develop retention of the learners on the lesson/s, it must be captivating and motivating.

Word Spacing and Alignment
• Body text for Grades 1, 2, and 3 modules: set flush left, ragged right to avoid hyphenated words
• Body text for Grades 4, 5 and 6: set justified.
• Body text for secondary school modules and teaching guides: set justified.
![Page 12: Validation Form .Ppt.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022033102/577c7d181a28abe0549d5924/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Picture quality
• Localized not downloaded• relevant to the topic• Sufficient based on the art:text ratio
![Page 13: Validation Form .Ppt.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022033102/577c7d181a28abe0549d5924/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Clarity of Symbol Used
• Clear symbol identification. All symbols should be clearly distinguished so that the numeral "1" cannot be mistaken for a capital letter "I". The upper half of the letters should be particularly recognizable.
• Mathematical symbols should also be clearly recognized.
![Page 14: Validation Form .Ppt.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022033102/577c7d181a28abe0549d5924/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Legibility of pages
Legibility of typeset does not depend on the size of type alone. Other factors that influence legibility are:
• style and width of type• line measure• word and line spacing• indentions, and• margins
![Page 15: Validation Form .Ppt.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022033102/577c7d181a28abe0549d5924/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Legibility of pages
a. The body text in facing pages shall be equal in length, except where either page contains the end of unit, chapter, or lesson.
b. There should be at least two lines of text below a text head at the foot of a page.
c. A maximim of three consecutive hypenated words are allowed in a paragraph.
![Page 16: Validation Form .Ppt.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022033102/577c7d181a28abe0549d5924/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Legibility of pages
d. All beginning pages for units/chapters should consistently fall either on the right-or left-hand page. The last page of a unit/chapter should occupy at least half of the text so as to fully utilize paper.
e. Camera-ready pages should include all the graphics/visuals (with overlays and/or sreen indications, if with color) If graphics/visuals (i.e. line art, tables, charts, etc.) are used to supplement body text, these should be found on the same page as the text citation.
![Page 17: Validation Form .Ppt.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022033102/577c7d181a28abe0549d5924/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Legibility of pages
f. Pages should not have bad breaks which affect readability. Common examples of bad breaaks are:
• A widow - a short line or anything less than a full line at the top of the page
• A page or column that ends with the first part of a broken/hyphenated word.
• A subhead falling at the foot of a page or column.
![Page 18: Validation Form .Ppt.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022033102/577c7d181a28abe0549d5924/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Page Layout
• Eye movementA single format, whether horizontal or vertical (the eye prefers a horizontal movement) must be consistent within a book to keep the reader from turning around one in a while as this would break his or her concentration and lessen interest in reading.
Application of design principlesThe basic design principles are variety, proportion, balance, rythm, contrast, unity, and simpliciity.
![Page 19: Validation Form .Ppt.](https://reader030.fdocuments.in/reader030/viewer/2022033102/577c7d181a28abe0549d5924/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
