Description

Valiant Yachts are known for their fine craftsmanship and beautiful woods. Attention to detailis everywhere. Argo's interior is light cherrywood, oiled and hand-rubbed. Her floor is 1/2" teakand poplar laid over 1 1/4" marine-grade plywood, making for a very substantial floor, all floorboards labeled and locking. The entire interior is custom built to each Valiant.

There is plenty of room for stowage, with no wasted space aboard. In particular, there is a hugeshelved locker in forward stateroom, a lighted galley pantry with 4 large roll-out drawers, largehanging locker aft and a large laundry/storage hamper in the head.

The Valiant is a semi-custom, built to order yacht. Valiant has a 1-piece solid fiberglass hulldesign that cannot be modified. They have three "standard" interior layouts that can bemodified as much or as little as the owner wishes. We made many "small" changes to theinterior. We had Valiant install all our equipment making it ready for blue water cruising,thereby knowing that it was installed properly and having only one party to look to in case therewas an equipment or installation issue. Valiant has supported us 100% with quality service(phone, email or in person), and as part of the "Valiant family" extends their support and serviceto subsequent Valiant owners. Parts purchased through the Valiant factory are discounted toValiant owners.

Our numerous decisions included everything from sails to electronics to appliances to systemsto upholstery! During this time we attended two Annapolis Sailboat shows, the Pacific SailExpo, the Miami Boat Show, visited the Valiant factory several times to view other Valiants invarious stages of production, and to meet/email many other Valiant owners to get their feedback


on their finished boats. It was helpful to hear the things that they were really glad they haddone, and also the things they wish they would have done differently in retrospect.

ARGOARGO was commissioned in March 2000, her hull was laid in July 2001 and 9 months laterwas delivered to us in Houston, Texas in April 2002. At that time, ARGOARGO was the most fullyequipped Valiant 42' ever built.

The Valiant Yacht factory is north of Dallas on Lake Texoma. Living in Houston at the time, wewere able to visit the factory about once a month during the building process, so we literallyknow the boat inside and out.
