The quality of the air we breathe can affect our health. Fine powders are made up of billions of tiny particles, microscopic amounts of fibre, soot, smog, viruses and mites with their residues. Daily cleaning with SW3 really is more effective in ensuring a healthy environment for children, in helping people affected by allergies, against pollen for exam-ple, which comes in through open windows, carried by the wind thanks to its minimum weight, and stays in the room for hours. When all this is breathed in, it can irritate our mucosa. Our pets can also be good carriers of allergy triggering substances.

SW3 is fitted with the exclusive RAIN SYSTEM, a sophisticated filter system through the highly -efficient nebulisation of water able to hold even the most difficult dust that is con-sequently stopped and made heavier, helping it to deposit in the container. This system is complete with a second paper filtering level specifically designed to withhold even the smallest particles. The air is therefore purified from all dirt particles. With regards to vacuum too, SW3 offers significant advantage in terms of suction effi-ciency. The high speed motor yields excellent performance with, at the same time, the possibility of managing the suction power by means of the electronic control on the grip handle.SW3 does not only offer suction power, but also an intelligent and environmentally aware filtering system: no more paper filters to buy separately and then dispose of: as well as saving on running costs, this appliance saves you time as you do not have to go and buy anything, and produces less waste.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE VAPOR CLEANING SY-STEM.When using the Cleaning System, always use basic precaution, including the following:Warning – To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or injury: 1. Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug the Cleaning System from

For a more thorough cleaning of the electronic sensor, we advise you to use a glass of white vinegar, or a mixture of water (70%) and descaler (30%), to be found in supermarkets or any specialized shop. Never use plain, undiluted descaling products! You could chemically damage the sensor’s surface! Leave the product or the vinegar to act on the sensor for at least 2 hours (Fig. 32).

Fasten the sensor back onto the machine, by turning clockwise.Tighten without forcing.Important! The first time the machine is to be used following this operation, remember to discharge a little steam onto a dirty cloth. Repeat this several times, in order to empty the steam circuit of all descaling product. The machine is now ready for use once again!

Important! Before fastening the sensor, the brass element functioning as contact with the metallic part of the sensor must be cleaned (fig.A).To efficaciously clean the component, we recommend use of an antioxidant spray solution, contributing to protection of the contact, also against wear-and-tear.

In the present chapter, we will show you how to extend considerably your machine’s working life thanks to an exclusive technology that allows to prevent limescale formation in the steam boiler. After prolonged periods of activity, limescale deposits make no longer usable the boilers of most steam appliances found on the market. Your Multifunction Machine, thanks to an exclusive patented technology, allows to inspect and clean the special electronic sensor that monitors the boiler water level.Other machines, because of limescale deposits, can no longer detect water levels; your Multifunction Machine however, thanks to a simple operation you can carry out at home, can be back as new. You will also be able to descale the boiler, further prolonging the appliance efficiency. We advise you to carry out this operation at least once a year, although the amount of limescale forming in the boiler is very much dependent on the hardness of your mains water. In any case, if you see a deterioration in your machine steam functions performance, or limescale coming out of the steam accessories, that means it’s time to descale sensor and boiler.WARNING! We advise you against using water with hardness exceeding 30°.Proceed as follows:Finish off cleaning and wait for the machine to cool down completely.WARNING! Never, for no reason whatsoever, carry out your descaling operations when the machine is still hot! You could burn yourself. Wait at least two hours before proceeding with any maintenance operation.Disconnect the plug from the mains. Remove the hose from the machine, to make operations easier.Remove the tank lid and purification tank (Fig. 15) and empty completely.Carefully turn the machine upside down, identifying the sensor knob (Fig. 29).Unscrew the electronic sensor by turning the knob anticlockwise, as shown in Fig. 29.Use the specific funnel (M) to pour approximately half a glass of vinegar (approx. 0.1 litres) into the boiler. Fasten the sensor to the boiler entrance by turning clockwise.Tighten without forcing.Return the appliance to its original position, and replace the tank. Close the tank lid and refasten it (Fig. 1-6)..Connect the appliance to the mains and turn on as usual.Turn the boiler on by pressing the functions button (Fig. 11). Wait approximately 1 minute, then turn the appliance off. Leave to work for approximately 12 hours, remembering to shake the machine a little every now and then, to let the descaling solution work better.Once the stated time has passed, unscrew the electronic sensor by turning the knob anticlockwise (Fig. 29), take hold of the machine and empty out the boiler using a basin or other such recipient. After having descaled the boiler, clean the encrusted sensor with the help of a cutter (Fig. 31), or alternatively a metal scourer. Scrape the metal part at the end of the sensor, freeing it from the larger deposits.

ASPIRATING FILTER:This prevents particles that have not been fully filtered by the water from reaching the motor.Check the efficiency of filters when you are cleaning the purification tank.If necessary, remove and rinse repeatedly the filter, separating it from the machine body (Fig.24) with the help of small pliers (eyebrow tweezers will do). Wash the filter element with plenty of cold water and neutral detergent.Do not leave the sponge filter to dry on heaters or radiators! As soon as stains or mould appear on the filters surface, replace them with new ones, to be found at a Service Centre. The life of this particular component is strongly influenced by how much the appliance is actually being used. In any case, it is advisable to dispose of (properly, not by dumping them into the environment) the filters after about two years of daily use.

MOTOR ASPIRATING FILTER:Designed to prevent various particles (from carpets, dust or dirt present in the air) from reaching the motor. It is also used to filter the motor cooling air, a unique function to be found only in SW3.Check that the aspirating filter is clean, and therefore efficient, at least once a month, if you use the vacuum cleaner daily. If needed, remove and rinse the aspirating filter. To remove it, it is necessary to first take off the tank and so avoid that, on turning the appliance over, water be spilled on the motor fan. Find the lower cover (Fig.25) and remove it by undoing the central screw, simply using your hands or a coin (Fig.26).Remove the filter (Fig.27) and wash it with water and neutral detergent. Before using the vacuum cleaner again, it is important that the filters are dry, so that they can operate at their best.Do not leave the aspirating filter to dry on heaters or radiators!

A) Rectangular brushReliable and robust, it is suitable for any kind of floor. This multipurpose brush is supplied with other accessories:A1 parquet and delicate flooring vacuum cleanerA2 carpet and rug accessory A3 liquid suction rubber accessory for floorsThe choice to use steam only, vacuum only or both is mostly compulsory and depends on the accessory being used, but in many cases it is up to the user, according to the type of dirt to be dealt with: if the dirt is stubborn, it is advisable to use steam; to go over quic-kly or to dry, vacuum will do. The brush is equipped with four handy grippers to attach a cloth. It also has a slider for locking the joint. The swivel joint allows for easy use even in small spaces (e.g. underneath furniture).

Useful Tips

Very Dirty SurfacesBrush the surface in order to remove most of the dirt, then give steam to dissolve it, and stop the steam.Lastly, turn on the vacuum and go over the surface by tilting the brush forward, drying and vacuuming the dirt.

Medium Dirty SurfacesOperate with both steam and vacuum (depending, however, on the accessory being used), then turn off the steam. The brush must always be tilted forward (to facilitate vacuuming). After finishing work, do not stop the vacuum immediately, to allow the dirty water still inside the sucking tube to reach the recovery tank.

Carpets and rugsThe appliance can clean and disinfect any kind of carpet or rug. It will revive colours, restore the original thickness and eliminate impurities from the carpet bottom layer. If your carpets and rugs are dusty on top, start by using the big brush with vacuum only (using the carpet accessory). After vacuuming, use the appliance with simultaneous action (steam+vacuum), accor-ding to the same procedure recommended for medium dirty surfaces. With particularly stubborn and crusty stains, we recommend the use of 1 hole dress-fit + vacuum nozzle (F).Steam ensures a good cleaning in any case, however, to pretreat carpets or rugs with detergents, be careful not to vacuum off any foam produced as it could end up inside the motor! It is advisable to use low foam detergents.

Adding a clothFixing a cloth on the brush is recommended when you go over delicate materials with steam: fabric, but also delicate surfaces like parquet or marble, when you want to dis-solve and spread again wax (steam on low and delicate cloth that won’t scratch)

10

B) Triangular brush Same use as with the rectangular brush, in all cases when use of the latter is not possi-ble or just awkward. This brush too is equipped with other accessories:B1 Carpet accessoryB2 Vacuum cleaner accessoryThe brush has two handy grippers for attaching a cloth: for furnishing and furniture fabrics (take care with velvet, leather, alcantara, silk and delicate surfaces):- place a cloth on the brush- give steam- block the steam outlet and dry up by just vacuuming

C) Extension tubes They are supplied to obtain the desired length, according to the type of work to be done. Their heat insulation prevents any accident or risk of getting burned.

(D-D1) Window cleaner The large and small window cleaners are for easy cleaning of glass and other smooth surfaces. The choice of the large or small window cleaner depends on the surface area to be cleaned.Useful tip: in winter, pre-heat the window panes using steam, at a 5 or 10 cm distance, before proceeding with any cleaning operation.Operate the two functions, steam and vacuum, at the same time by slightly tilting the window cleaner and moving down the window edges.

(E) One hole Dress-fit + (F) Large nozzle, (F1) Small nozzle, (G) Small round brushThis accessory can be used on its own or equipped on top with a small round brush (that just clicks in) to remove grease, or with vacuum nozzles, to allow grease or dust to be sucked in when using vacuum only.It is particularly recommended to clean and to remove grease:- between tiles- inside and outside ovens and cookers- steel or enamel sinks- wash basin, bidet, toilet, shower, bath - taps and fittings (to remove scale)Suitable for all difficult work. First brush with steam the area where grease is to be removed. Stop the steam and switch to vacuum with the nozzle. For dusting radiators: use steam, the dust will fall on the floor and you can then vacuum everything off. For doors/windows frames: place a cloth on the edge of the frame and tilt the dress-fit while operating steam; the cloth will gather the dirt. For cleaning the toilet: use steam on the edge where water descends from, to remove scale. If necessary, use the small round brush.

(H) Three holes Dress-fit + (I) Special brushes This accessory, combined with special brushes, is particularly suitable for cleaning the oven and worktops, thanks to its shape and size. The special brushes can reach difficult and awkward places and do a thorough job. By turning them both ways you can have a central or side/angled steam jet!

The quality of the air we breathe is certainly one of the most important factors affecting our health and well being. With SW3 it is possible to add essential or balsamic oils to the water in the purification tank. This will allow an intense Aromatherapy or Balsam-Therapy treatment, much to the delight of everyone, including children.

AROMATHERAPY:- Open the tank lid and take off the purification tank.- Refill the tank with clean water, as described in chapter 3, but adding 1 litre water only.- Add to the water a few drops of concentrated fragrance (Fig.18), available ONLY at shops or Authorized Service Centres in different scents (for example: lily of the valley, apple flowers, lavender, acacia, sandalwood, green tea, etc.).

- Reassemble the purification tank and the lid.- Plug in. Turn on the appliance to medium speed.- Pure and perfumed air will come out of the grille at the back, quickly refreshing all rooms in the house, and getting rid of stuffiness and bad odours.

IMPORTANT! Before using SW3 again, make sure the divider inside the tank and the nebulizers have been reassembled cor-rectly. Do not use the appliance without the divider or the nebulizers as this could lead to serious damage.WARNING! We strongly advise, after aspi-rating liquids or solids, to rinse the appliance inside and any accessory used, by emptying the tank and aspirating 1-2 litres clean water. Also, please do not leave any aspirated liquid inside the tank, to prevent the forma-tion of limescale or moulds, and consequen-tly bad odours.

EASY CLEN SYSTEM™

No need to store up on bags or filters thanks to EASY CLEAN SYSTEM™. Cleaning the purification tank is all that is required for top SW3 efficiency. At the end of your work, empty the liquid waste of the purification tank as shown in Fig.15. To make this opera-tion easier, the divider inside the tank can be taken off (Fig.16) and it is also advisable to remove the nebulizers (Fig.17). Rinse tank, divider and nebulizers with abundant hot water and neutral detergent until all residues and stains on the tank walls have been removed.

Blower tube + Small nozzle (F1):Thanks to the blower function it is possible to reverse air flux to blow, simply by replacing the air outlet grille at the back with the proper blower tube, equipped with connecting device (Fig.13). Insertion of the clear nozzle (F1) at the blower tube end will further incre-ase blower function efficacy (Fig.14).

This function transforms our appliance into a mini compressor - perfect for cleaning stereo systems, computers or narrow areas, etc.. It is also useful to blow away leaves and plant debris built up in the garden.

WARNING! Absolutely avoid blocking the blower tube air outlet, with your hands or by pressing it against various surfaces (e.g. if you are working between sofas), in order to prevent motor overheating.

Fill the water tank as described in chapter 3. Carry on with your cleaning operations, choosing the best accessory for the job (see chapter 5).To have maximum vacuum power, keep the handle shutter closed. The small nozzle will turn out to be really precious for all those hidden spots in the kitchen, in the bathroom, etc. To dust lamps, shades or other delicate objects, use the round brush K, reducing vacuum speed with the main control, or else with the handle shutter, very useful to change vacuum power directly while you are working. If you are vacuuming dust or other kind of dirt, replace the tank water frequently. If you only want to vacuum dust, refill the water tank in any case as described in chapter 3.WARNING! To vacuum liquids, you do not have to fill the purification tank with clean water! If great amounts of water are to be aspirated, you should certainly use medium or low vacuum power, never maximum. The appliance can aspirate up to 1.4 litres liquid. Switch on the vacuum cleaner and press the functions button. If you want to aspirate liquids spilled on the floor, you will have to use the extension tube (C), with the nozzle inserted in, and connect it to the handle by simply pressing. To get maximum aspirating power, keep the handle shutter constantly closed. To aspirate liquids from the floor, medium vacuum speed is highly recommended, especially in case of large amounts of water (e.g. overflow from wash basins). Maximum speed is advisa-ble only for small amounts of water.
