VACATION CARE Schools out and it’s time to have fun at Vacation Care. Our program of fun and educational activities is developed based on experience, feedback and suggestions from our educators, families and most importantly the children who attend our service. As well as engaging and stimulating in-centre activities, we offer themed activity days, fun and educational excursions and incursions in a safe environment that encourages children to make new friends and try new things. PLEASE NOTE: Children can only attend an excursion if a parent/guardian has signed the excursion permission form. VACATION CARE

families and most importantly the children who attend our service.

PLEASE NOTE:

Preparing your child for the program:

If your child/ren has Asthma &/or Anaphylaxis you will need to check in with the Responsible Person on duty

on your child’s first day of care and:

Please pack a healthy morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea in a cooler bag with a frozen drink/ice pack

inside (no nut products e.g. Nutella, sweets or junk food) – Breakfast is provided until 8:00 am daily

Develop your skills with our modified

Rugby League games aimed at all

ages and skill levels. Come dressed in

your favourite sporting outfit. The day

will also include a nature skills lesson

where depending on the weather

children will learn how to safely make

a fire. Also included is a shelter

building experience.

EXCURSION

Putt Putt @ Putt Planet Miranda

(5-12 years old)

Travel by bus to Putt Planet’s indoor

18 hole mini golf located in Miranda.

This excursion allows children to

develop new sporting skills whilst

enjoying the company of their friends.

Using Natural materials found on the

school grounds, children will create a

watch a new release movie. Popcorn

and drink included. Children will

foster social skills by sharing an

Walk to Carlton Station then travel by

train to Hurstville Westfield’s for lunch

latest release movie. Lunch is

permitted to bring extra spending

money on the day. Children will foster

social skills by sharing an experience

with their friends.

Today is all about being creative.

Children can also participate in the

KCS Recyclable Art Program using a

range of recycling materials.

electronics that may be damaged or

stolen on the day.

Museum visit @ Sydney Bus Museum

(5-12 years old)

Step inside the over 100 year-old

Leichhardt Tram shed to see the

extensive collection of vintage buses.

The experience includes a guided tour

and ride aboard a vintage double

decker bus. A great history lesson and

experience for children

Wheels Day

Bring your bike, scooter or skateboard

along today for Wheels Day. Children

need to be confident riders (no

skateboard safety before bringing to

the service.

Drumming Workshop

Full of excitement & fun! Children

have chances to play a wide variety of

African drums & percussion

instruments with highly supportive &

encouraging instructors.

Room Escape @ The Escape Hunt

Experience Sydney (8-12 years old)

Travel by train to the escape hunt

experience Sydney to compete in

teams where children will need to

figure out all the clues to escape the

room in the quickest time. A great

chance for children to build on their

problem solving skills.

Come and join our Minute-To-Win-It

games with your friends. We will be

playing an assortment of challenging

games.

INCURSION

Go Karts (5-12 years old)

A day of Go Kart racing fun with your

friends, The Go karts are pedal

powered. Please wear enclosed shoes

and bring your own helmet.

Cost: $5 per child enrolled today

EXCURSION

Intergenerational Music Workshop

@ Shop Front Theatre Carlton

(8 - 12 years old)

Walk to the Shop Front Theatre in

Carlton for an intergenerational music

workshop with a choir/hip hop focus.

This will provide the opportunity for

both seniors and young people to

meet in a relaxed creative

environment. The seniors involved In

the project will be from Greenwood

Cottage. This is a great opportunity for

children to develop their sense of

community. All children on excursion

will still have time for the Go Kart

incursion.

Program

Get Active whilst playing traditional

aboriginal sports games with your

develop a greater understanding and

appreciation of indigenous culture.

Museum visit @ Powerhouse

Museum (5-12 years old)

Travel by KCS bus to Powerhouse

Museum for an educational excursion.

Children will go on a 30 min invention

themed tour of the collection.

Afterwards they can draw their own

ideal object. Groups will also be able

to drop-in to the Turbine Hall where

they can engage in hands on making

activities and demonstrations.

Children will also be able to work

together on a S.T.E.A.M challenge

where they have to collaborate

together in groups to creatively solve

a building challenge using only found

objects and craft materials.

Playground (5-12 years old)

Travel by bus to Monkey Baa Theatre

in Darling Harbor to watch a stage

show. The excursion will also include

free time to play in the Darling

Quarter playground. This excursion

provides an opportunity to develop an

interest in theatre.

Celebrate the end of Vacation care

Fees are $45 per child per day, plus an administration fee of $10 per child or $20 per family with two or more children. The

administration fee will be applied each term to your account if you attend one or more of our services, Before/After School

Care or Vacation Care.

Agreement

I agree to abide by KCS Children’s Services policies and information outlined in the Family Handbook. Any updates/changes will be

communicated by me as they occur. Copies of the handbook and policies are available at the Service and on the website

www.kogarahcommunity.org.au

I agree to meet the cost of Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) for which I have enrolled my child/ren including any additional activity costs

as required. I understand that care for my child/ren may be cancelled if I do not pay my fees as required.

If my child/ren has a medical condition and/or requires medication to be administered, I agree to notify the Responsible Person, complete

the authorisation to administer medication forms and provide appropriately prescribed and labelled medications within expiry dates.

I have provided KCS with appropriate forms/documents required e.g. court orders, anaphylaxis /asthma management plans,

immunisation details, and notifications from the Department of Human Services relating to the care of my children. I agree to update

these forms/documents as needed and in due course.

I will not hold KCS or its staff responsible for personal possessions including toys and electronic games that my children choose to bring

to OSHC.

I understand my child/ren’s participation in these activities is voluntary and not compulsory and I undertake to inform KCS if my child/ren

is/are unable to fully participate in the regular recreational activities programmed and delivered within OSHC.

I acknowledge that the information provided during enrolment is to be used solely for the purpose of providing OSHC for my child/ren but

may be released when legally required to do so.

I acknowledge that in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, Division 4, No. 94—Exception to

Authorisation Requirement— Anaphylaxis or Asthma Emergency, medication may be administered to a child without authorisation in the

case of an anaphylaxis or asthma emergency.

I understand that KCS may screen movies for program and/or education purposes and I agree to allowing my child/ren to watch movies

evaluated by KCS as appropriate and of a classification of “G” or “PG” under the Australian Classification Board.

I understand that for program and/or education purposes, materials may be used including but not limited to, face paint, hairspray and

other colouring materials. I agree to read the details of the programs and clarify with KCS if necessary before giving my consent to my

child/ren’s participation in these programs.

Authorisations

In the event of an accident/emergency I hereby give permission for KCS to arrange emergency medical, dental or hospital treatment for

my child/ren as appropriate, and if necessary transportation by ambulance to a hospital at my expense for my child/ren.
