About the job
The council is seeking to appoint an innovative individual to play a major part in the delivery of key

Somerset, 30 minutes’ Dorchester and 45 minutes from the Jurassic Coast. There are good railway links
to London, and options of town and some beautiful village living.
The team for the west of the county are based in County Hall in Taunton. As the county town transport
links are great with access to the M5, less than two hours by train to London and 40 minutes drive in
each direction to Bristol and Exeter.
Our offices in Mendip are located in Shepton Mallet, just a short drive from both Frome and
Glastonbury and easily accessible from Wiltshire and North Somerset; with parking on site.

You will be expected to be flexible in your work base and to be willing to travel within the area of
Somerset where you work, you will be covering the acute hospital as well as the community hospitals in
the area and potentially working within admission avoidance as well.
You will be work with patients, families and our community networks to agree creative solutions to help
people return and remain at home. You will work closely with health colleagues to provide better
outcomes for people and improve the patient experience.

Health Interface Service – working as part of the multi-disciplinary team based in The Bungalow with
integrated discharge team at Musgrove Park Hospital, you will work with people and their families
discharged from the hospital on a reablement/discharge to assess pathway back to their own home.
Getting people out of hospital and assessed in their own homes instead of on a hospital ward provides
a much better understanding of their abilities and needs. You will be responsible for devising
reablement plans to maximise their independence, setting personalised goals with them, and for the
reablement providers to work on. You will advise on creative solutions and utilise assistive technology
to help people return and remain at home. You will work closely with community and voluntary
organisations, as well as health and social care professionals to provide better outcomes for people.
Community Occupational Therapist – As a strong team player you will be dedicated to supporting
people at home to maximise their independence and live fulfilling lives. Working in the local community
team alongside social care workers you will find creative solutions for a range of client groups. We have
a formal programme of induction and CPD get you up and running in your new post, with ongoing
support from a dedicated Learning & development team. We are constantly looking at new ways of

This is an exciting scheme that provides assessment and supports foster placements for parents and
their young children. The team has built up a good reputation over the last few years and continues to

Preston School is looking to appoint an Exams Officer to lead our work on managing the qualifications
that our students take. This will include the preparation for GCSE and other qualifications as well as
administering the exams and leading the team of invigilators. A large aspect of the role is ensuring that
as a centre we adhere to the JCQ rules and regulations on assessments and exams.
Successful candidates will need to work as part of a team committed to achieving the best possible
outcomes for our students and be willing to support students, families and staff through the provision,
supervision and monitoring of examinations. The hours indicated are indicative and there will need to
be flexibility in working hours around the demands of internal and external exams (please see Job
Description).

EXAMINATION INVIGILATOR
(Casual contract)
Salary £8.68 per hour, plus holiday allowance
We are seeking to appoint Examination Invigilators to provide efficient and effective invigilation
supporting the work of the Examinations Department by supervising candidates in both internal and
external examinations. Full training will be given. Duties and Responsibilities include:
• To assist with setting up examination venues • To distribute and collect examination papers/scripts/materials from candidates • To ensure that the Examination Room is conducive to examination conditions • To supervise the entry and exit of candidates to and from the examination room and to ensure
that examinations begin and end on time as scheduled • To be vigilant during the examination, in order to prevent any cheating or malpractices • To deal sensitively with candidates who have special arrangements • To be familiar with and adhere to the Instructions for the Conduct of Examinations issued by the
Joint Council for Qualifications (training will be given) • To be available to work flexibly in ensuring that examination processes are completed at the end
of each examination Hours of Work
Hours required are on an “as required” basis and are flexible during the months of May, June, December
and January, between Monday and Friday from 8.30 am until 3.30 pm term time. There are occasions
when we may require you to work later than 3.30 pm (to fit the needs of examination schedules).

We require an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated PLSA, to support a SEN pupil on a 1:1 basis.
The successful candidate will be reliable, flexible and hardworking, with relevant teaching assistant
qualifications of Level 3 or above and experience of working with children with ASD.
This is a full time, term time only fixed term contract for this academic year, with the possibility of
extending into 2020/2021.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
