    Tuabine installation Project

    Project: Vung an thermal power plant A. Introduction

    Vung ang thermal power plant build in the Vung ang zone, ky anh district, Ha tinh province. It consists of two units with a capacity of 600 MW per unit (2x600MW). The owner is Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, the equipment supplers Toshiba Janpan. Viet nam LILAMA Erection Coporation is the general contractor EPC, assigned the task of processing, manufacturing , installing, test run without load and load of equipments. In there, LILAMA 69-1 is responsible for installation of Tuabine-Generator and additional equipments related Tuabine Generator is a high-pressure turbine, condensing pure with intermediate steam superheating. Tuabine includes three parts, high-presure part, medium presure part, low presure A and low presure B are supported on the bearing numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Tubine is operated and protected by electro-hydralic system to ensure safety in all turbine operating regime

    D. Generator installation method 1. Turbine installation sequence.

    1.1- Zoning, selecting the foundation to transport Turbine into the foundation installation.

    1.2. Leveling, compacting, constructing a way to transport Turbine into the position.

    1.3. Acceptance of foundation.

    2. Turbin installation. 2.1. Installing the benchmark on the foundation of Turbine 2.2. Carve rough concrete on the foundation of Turbine. 2.3. Receive, check and clean the equipments 2.4. Installing sole plates ( steel baseplate of Turbine) 2.5. Combine and install cylonder on the outside bottom of the low presure of Turbine A&B. a- Select the cable to hoist equipments. b- Hoist and install the cylinder on the outside bottom of the low presure of Turbine A&B. 2.6. Install the cylinder on the inside bottom of the low presure of Turbine A&B. 2.7. Install the nozzle diaphragms into the bottom of the cylinder of the low presure A&B. 2.8. Install and alignment Bearing Standard 1 2 3 4 5 6. 2.9. Install the cylinder on the outside bottom of the high-medium presure. 2.10. Install nozzle diaphragm into the high-medium presure of Turbine. 2.11. Pour non-shrinkage mortar into the cylinder of the low presure A&B. 2.12. Install Rotor low presure A&B.

    2.13. Align shaft coupling between Rotor low presure A and Rotor low presure B, rotor high presure and rotor low presure A. 2.14. Install nozzle diaphragm on the top of the cylinder of the low presure. 2.15. Break off Turbin low presure A&B. a- Break off the cylinder inside of the low presure A&B. b- Break off the cylinder outside of the low presure A&B. 2.16. Install Rotor high presure. 2.17.Align shaft coupling between Rotor low presure A and Rotor high presure. 2.18. Install nozzle diaphragm on the top of Turbine high presure. 2.19. Break off Turbine high presure. 2.20. Bolts installed and secured by heat. 2.21. Installation steam system and extraction. 2.22. Installation to connect the oil piping systerm.

    2.23. Installation the control and measuring equipment.

    II. Installation procedure. 1.1- Zoning, selecting the foundation to transport turbine into the most convenient position for installing, sufficient road width for vehicles and cranes to move safely and must have signposts.

    1.2- Aggrading, compacting, making a way to transport Turbine into the installation foundation. 1.3. Acceptance of machinery foundation, possession of site plan from building contractor, check centre and altitude of the machinery foundation, to ensure specifications as the drawings. The building contractor will supply the as-constructed drawings. A permissible error of the foundation dimesion. + Foundation coordinates (cross-crisis) 2mm + Level deviation 20mm.

    2.2 Carve rough concrete on the suface of turbine foundation. - Check altitude of turbine foundation, after that note down make report. Drafting

    for carving rough concrete on the foundation. - Use a gradienter to carve rough powder out of the surface of concrete, depth

    30mm. - Concrete carved rough to put into sole plate, carving deep enough, wider than

    edges of sole plate from 150 to 200mm, the surface of carved rough concrete must be flush, roughness from 10mm to 20mm and bolt hole-casing be cut higher about 6mm than concrete surface.

    - Pouring sika plate (support plate 50x50x6) in the M36 adjusted bolt position.

    - The concrete sufaces can be clean by air compressor and exhauster.

    2.3. Receive, check and clean equipments. - After turbine house is roof covering. - When receipt of equipments, transport equipments on the floor turbine height

    24500mm (the floor turbine is roof covering), check equipments to follow the list after dismouting and clean, maintain all of equipments, check the position, built-up dimesions, note down make report of quantity, measuring data and in comparision with the design, which supplied by manufacturer.

    2.4. Install and adjust sole plate ( steel shim of turbine). - Checking, classiffication, installation position of sole plate. - Reject oil preservative film out of the top and the bottom of sole plate by oil, oil

    stone, soft wiper.

    - Use oil stone shine surface of sole plate.

    - Use a bridge crane to put sole plate into the installation position as the drawings. - Install anchor botls, anchor bolt head is higher at least 3 threads than screw,

    anchor bolt-head is lower at least 3mm than surface of sole plate. - Use a gradienter observe the balance of sole plate, adjust sole plate lower than

    0.05mm as level of drawings. 2.2 Carve rough concrete on the suface of turbine foundation.

    - Check altitude of turbine foundation, after that note down make report. Drafting for carving rough concrete on the foundation.

    - Use a gradienter to carve rough powder out of the surface of concrete, depth 30mm.

    - Concrete carved rough to put into sole plate, carving deep enough, wider than edges of sole plate from 150 to 200mm, the surface of carved rough concrete must

    - Make sole plate balance, insert steel pad block under sole plate, number of steel pad block from 3 to 5 plates.

    - Steel pads must be good contact, tight, use measuring tape 0.03 to cram inside, if it can not cram that mean to meet requirements.

    - Use colouring matter check to connect of sole plates surface, connection 80%. - Align sole plate of low presure of turbine, use a measuring rule, magnetic support,

    mechanic level CX 0.02. - Level out balance between sole plate with error 0.10. - Level out balance inside of sole plate 0.03. - Secure bolts to fix sole plates, secure bolts on the same plate steadily, during

    securing process, always check balance and altitude of sole plate regularly, - Invitation related parties to check before acceptance, record data and prepare for

    installing cylinder in the bottom of low presure A and B.

    2.5. Combine and install cylinder in lower parts outer of low presure A&B. - Received equipment from yards, carried on special purpose vehicles, forcing the

    - Diaphragm laminates must install in accordance with the process, hoist gently, need adjusting pulley, the commander must be highly skill to handle in the hoisting process accurately, everybody must comply with the commanders order.

    - When the upper diaphragm laminate, we must use a seal check the clearance between the rotating blade and diaphragm laminate, at once use a measuring tape 0.03 check the clearance of assembly surface, if a measuring tape 0.03 isnt cramed into inside, that means to meet requirements. Botls installed and secured by a force spanner, head- bolt locked without rotation, so on until finishing.

    2.16. Put on the lid of low-pressure turbine A&B. * Put on the lid of the inner cylinder.

    - Similar to hoist the cylinder in lower parts inner of low presure, use a bridge crane in the engine compartment, hoisting cable and shackle applied to the cylinder in lower parts inner of low pressure (as the figure No.13).

    - When install to use 4 bolts guide in the bottom part of the 4 corners of the cylinder. - When the cylinder put into the position, seal, check the clearance between

    diaphragm laminate and the inner cylinder, the clearance must be met the design, the dilatation produced beacause of movement of engine, at once use a measuring tape 0.03 check the clearance of assembly surface, if a measuring tape 0.03 isnt cramed into inside, that means to meet requirements. Bolt secured to install by heat in accordance with the process, then fixed.

    - Lifting Rotor up to about 1000mm, a rope clamp rotor, use a mechnical level check the axis, adjust rotor balanced, when rotor balanced to continue to hoist in the position.

    - Adjust rotor of turbines high pressure, use a micrometer gauge, mechnical level, centreline stringing wire, feeler gauge adjust the clearances between rotor and laminate according to assembly requirements.

    - Sealing to check the clearance between rotors laminate and diaphragm, note down make report for comparing with the design, continue to adjust until meeting requirement.

    - Check, adjust the daylight of axis of the diaphragm and rotor, use a arm push a stationary blade to move to follow the axial and radial, note down the specifications for comparing with the design, the daylight within the scope of pemission.

    - Use a micrometer gauge ith degree of accuracy 0.01. Check the rotation of axis and note report, adjustment of concentricity of the radial and axial.

    - A gauge attached (as the figure below), the flanged coupling divided into 4 points, carry out rotating about fouth of revolution to note down make report, apply this formula, insert shims into bearings A&B.

    point. 2.19. Installation of diaphragm laminates of upper part of turbines high pressure

    - Installation of diaphragm laminate must comply with the process, hoist gently, before installing, every diaphragm laminate adjusted to meet requirement for the clearance and contact, should continue to install the next diaphragm laminate.

    - Adjustment of diaphragm laminates centre and altitude. Use A micrometer gauge, seal, feeler gauge to check ad adjust the clearance, asembly, bolt installed and secured by a torque wrench or hammer or lock against rotating.

    2.20. Put on the lid of turbines high- pressure - Specifications of the equipment in the cylinder checked, (attached checked

    documents). - Clean, check the dimension of keyhole, assembly tabs, apply white-lead on the

    surface. - Cover use a bridge crane on the engine compartment, pulley, cable, special-

    purpose shackle, attach to cable (as the figure No.19), hoisting up about 1000mm, check cable, the safety of hoisting device, in the same time, istall 4 pilot-pins into turbines lower part. Use mechnical level balance the cylinder, when ensure the safety conditions to continue to hoist the cylinder into the position.

    - The cylinder is near the position, far from the flange about 250mm, stop to clean the upper assembly surface and lower assembly surface, after that apply the colloidal film for the assembly surface and continue to get down until 2 flanges touch together.

    - Use a bridge crane in the engine compartment sling cable as the figure, hoisting into the position, adjustment the valves centre and altitude, in the same time must adjust connetion of inlet pipe and outlet pipe in according with the clearance and junstion standard , after that, use measured steel force to fix valve.

    - When valve installed into the position, make report and invite related parties to accept.

    - Welded pipe joints, pipe joints must be heated before welding, weld every film steadily, at once must weld symmetrically, welding stick must be correct type and always sured with the correct temperature.

    * Installation of extractions - When carry out connecting, must use TIG welding machine, and welding sticks be

    correct types.

    2.22. Installation of connection of the oil piping system. * Installation of the oil pump and oil tank. The oil pump combined with the oil tank. - The oil tank installed into the position, adjust the centre of tank as the installing

    drawing. - Dismount the cover, oil screen out of the tank, clean inside of the tank, use wheat

    flour clean dust, iron filing, the oil screen blown by the air compressor. - Install and adjust a oil pump, use a bridge crane in the engine compartment to hoist

    the pump into the position, use grandienter, theodolite check and adjust the pumps centre and altitude as the drawings.

    - Adjust pumps propeller and pump so that the clearance is according to the design, the coupler of the axis of pump and the motor is the same way with the coupler of the axis of turbine-generator.

    + Tolerance of radial 0.04mm + Tolerance of axial 0.04mm * Installation of the oil piping. - The oil piping cleaned and ahed through by acid before carry out connecting. - The flanges must be smooth, correct type, between the flanges must have oil-

    - Piping welded by Tig welding, welded joints must be checked by supersonic and osmosis.

    - Installation of the oil systerm has completed,tipped flug bearings run circulately for washing through.
