A Word from Pastor WadeSummer Activities

We just celebrated the last day of school in our home, and our family is busy planning a summer of fun and excitement. We have church camp, vacation, General Assembly in Des Moines, and school activities along with lots of fun activi-ties with the church. But first, we begin with a bit of vacation and State Track leading us to Wash-ington D.C. and visiting some colleges in the area with our rising Senior, Clarissa. When we get back, we have a number of “Meet the Millers” events already on the books as we invite ALL our church friends and families to join us in smaller, more intimate neighborhood gatherings, so that we can get to know you all and learn a bit more about your dreams and hopes for the church. That’s part of why we are starting our “Circle Maker” sermon series, surrounding our Big Dreams in unwavering prayer. Be sure to join us in worship when you are in town, and stick around after worship for discussion around the book and its important lessons. We will celebrate our (Church) Campers on June 2, the blessing of God’s Holy Spirit at Pente-cost on June 9, and then have a little fun with our “Grillmasters’ Sunday” on Fathers’ Day, June 16. You can grill up your own specialty or just come and enjoy a picnic with games and activities for the little ones. The next week, we will celebrate our Vaca-tion Bible School, and hopefully hear a couple of songs on VBS Sunday, June 23. Then, a bit later in the Summer, there’s a “FCC Night at the Ball-park” Hoppers game July 10 and an All-Church Ice Cream Social on July 14. It will be a great summer, and I am thoroughly looking forward to spending a big part of it with our church family. We hope to see you when you’re in town. (You might not want to miss out on the excitement!)

NURSERY UPDATEWe are looking for a Nursery Coordinator and two Nurs-ery Attendants. Both positions must have (or be willing to secure) a background criminal record check and state child abuse register check, a TB Skin Test, and annual cer-tification in CPR and First Aid. We are currently working with Hopkinsville Community College and indeed.com to recruit candidates, but if you are aware of any qualified candidates that you would like to recommend, please con-tact [email protected] for further details.

SAVE THE DATE!The FCC Night out at the Hoppers game will be the

evening of July 10th. More details to come.

SUNDAY SCHOOL Pastor Wade will be leading a discussion from Mark Batterson’s book, The Circle Maker, through June 23. Join Pastor Wade and the Wild Geese in the church library during our Sunday School hour, from 11:00-

Noon. (Child care and supervised play will be provided in the nursery.)

GRILL MASTERS ALL-CHURCH PICNIC!

Father’s Day, June 16thWhat’s Father’s Day without a little BBQ on the grill? Stick around after worship on June 16th for an all-church pic-nic and lots of fun and games! Burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips, dips, and drinks will be provided. If you want to bring your favorite side or dessert, that is welcome! Games and children’s activities will be provided! Come join the fun as we celebrate summer and our FCC Dads! If you’re inter-ested in showing off your “grill-skills” with your own special-ty to share, contact the office 270-886-0197.

REMEMBER IN DAILY PRAYER(Names will remain on prayer list for one month,

unless the office is otherwise notified.)
