DankwoordTeam

Prof. dr. G.M.M.J. Kerkhoffs, promotor.

terecht.

Dr. A. Weir, co-promotor.

Terugkijkend realiseer ik me nu

Prof. dr. Oostra, Prof. dr.

Prof. dr. Glasgow, dear Phil, I am grateful for your presence in my PhD committee. A

third party in Switzerland, who thought we would be complimentary, arranged our first

meeting almost four years ago. This was not just a wild guess and worked out wonderfully

well. It felt like finding a piece of the puzzle that had never been lost; a valuable add-on

to what Rob Langhout and I had already been developing. Others did not always share

our thoughts on injury mechanisms and treatment pathways. Meeting up and closely

working together on research and education has strengthened our ideas and tightened our

friendship. Always good to end a hard days work together with a good wine or beer (or two).

We have been in many nice places together and having the families involved occasionally

made it even more valuable. I am looking forward to our next meeting in Belfast in October

and I am confident it will be one of more to come.

Paranimfen

Let’s move on!

positivisme is aanstekelijk.

eens zeggen.

zo’n raar pak.

Page 26: UvA-DARE (Digital Academic Repository) Hip and groin pain ... · 210 36. Chadayammuri V, Garabekyan T, Bedi A, et al. Passive Hip Range of Motion Predicts Femoral Torsion and Acetabular

231

siert jullie.

Curriculum Vitae

Igor Tak was born in Tilburg (05-07-1971) and raised in Goirle, a serene village in Noord-

Brabant (The Netherlands). After graduating from high school (Gymnasium β) at Mill Hill

College, he graduated his Physiotherapy Bachelor in Utrecht in 1996. Besides his clinical

work as a consulting physiotherapist in primary health care he completed his Master

of Science in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences in Leuven (B) in 2000 and his

Master of Science in Sports Physiotherapy in Breda (NL) in 2013.

At that time he had worked as a consulting physiotherapist in sports and orthopaedic

rehabilitation for more than 10 years. Together with Jenneke Bouman, he founded

(co-owners) “Fysiotherapie Utrecht Oost – Het centrum voor Gezondheid, Beweging

en Sport”, a multi disciplinary treatment centre for movement related disorders in

Utrecht in 2012. In 2014 he started his PhD project on hip and groin pain in athletes at

the Academic Medical Centre Amsterdam (AMC) / Academic Centre for Evidence Based

Sports Medicine (ACES), supervised by promotor professor dr. Gino Kerkhoffs and

supported by co-promotores and experts dr. Rintje Agricola and dr. Adam Weir. The basis

of this scientific journey was and still is an intensive collaboration with colleague Rob

Langhout (Nijmegen), who is a consulting manual therapist and experienced tutor at

the Masters Program for Manual Therapy. This fruitful and inspiring collaboration has

resulted in multiple publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals like

BJSM and AJSM.

Besides the current clinical and research work Igor teaches on topics in sports

physiotherapy and rehabilitation of sports related musculoskeletal injuries. He has

presented at national and international conferences and co-authored The Dutch

Evidence Based Statement on Acute Knee Injury and the Competency Profile for Sports

Physiotherapists, both for the Royal Dutch Society for Physiotherapy.

Igor married Giselle Ronnen in 2007. They are the proud parents of two sons: Karsten

(2008) and Philip (2012).
