    Design Code & Specification: Design of steel structure building followed the codes and specification of American Institute of Steel Building Construction (AISC), American Codes and Standards or Bangladesh National Building Codes (BNBC-2006). If required any other codes may be applicable. It is Univend Structural Steel Ltd. policy to comply with latest issue and supplements of these codes.

    Design Loads: Considering the climatic condition round the year buildings design for the following loads:

    Dead Load: Total weight of the buildings & its components.

  • Advantage of Steel Building Construction The influence of time on cost is very significant, through interest rates, inflation and rentals.     Width of Building: The lateral width of a Building measured from out to out of steel lines.

    Length of Building: Distance between two end bay is summation of end bays and interior bays within the build- ing is actually creates the length of building.

    End Bay: The first or last bay of the building as opposed to interior bay.

    Interior Bay: The distance between the center lines of two adjacent interior rigid frames.

    Pitch or Roof Slope: Roof slope is defined as the angle between the inclined roof surfaces to the horizontal surface and is commonly 1/10 but it may change due to demand the type and size of Building.

    Single Slope Single Span or Multi Span: Single slope buildings may be either clear span or multi span. The most common conditions for using single slope buildings are whenever rain water drainage is required to be along one side wall of the building only. A common applications of single slope buildings are demount able buildings such as those use for site offices or camp accommodations. These are typical 3.6m wide, 12m long, with 2.4m eave height at the lower side.
