Established in 2014 and based at the Perelman Centre for Legal Philosophy and the European Law Centre of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, the ELC provides students with the opportunity to enhance their legal knowledge and practical skills. They work on specific transnational issues about equality and non-discrimination law (e.g., immigration and asylum law, reproductive justice and abortion rights, transgender rights and disability rights). Combining theoretical and practical work, it offers transdisciplinary training that embeds legal knowledge in its socio-economic context. The aim of the ELC is both to provide a valuable educational experience and to produce a meaningful practical contribution that promotes equality and justice.
