Summary

Incumbents in the Team Leader Facilities series train and supervise the Facilities Service Representatives while coordinating and directing the activities of an assigned area. Incumbents perform direct labor cleaning and maintenance duties as well as personnel assignment, training and management, quality assurance, and inventory control.

Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities

The Team Leader Facilities II may report to a Manager. This classification is responsible to train and guide the Facilities Service Representatives.

Typical Functions

1. Ensures both the cleaning and maintenance of internal and external assigned facilities. 2. Maintains inventory of supplies and makes or recommends purchases to meet the needs of the

area.3. Organizes and conducts cluster meetings.4. Participates in hiring, training, work allocation, and quality assurance.5. Trains and informs employees on new work methods and procedures, safety regulations, work

policies, codes, and standards.6. Conducts building audits and inspections to evaluate time management practices and ensure

that the quality of work consistently meets established procedures, safety regulations, and control standards.

7. Organizes and coordinates building workloads and implements core and specialty cleaning practices.

8. Coordinates all events and major/minor projects, including deep cleaning without interfering with residents or occupants of the space.

9. Assists in the annual budget planning process and regularly monitors expenditures.10. Performs direct labor cleaning and maintenance duties as a working member of the department.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of commercial or industrial cleaning experience is required.

Work Environment and Physical RequirementsThe environment for this classification varies and includes office environments and outdoor environments. In the office environment, employees are protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily temperature changes. In the outdoor environment, employees are not protected from weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. The employee may also be exposed to loud noises, vibrations from equipment, and atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation.
