1. In looking at our school targets for your grade and taking into account the data so far on your students, what are the specific goals you have for your students in order for them to have success this year?

2. What strategies, practices, and methods will you need to use to accomplish these goals?

3. What kinds of changes and modifications will you have to make in your teaching in order to achieve

these goals?

4. What kind of support, resources, or guidance will you need to make these changes or modifications?

5. Are there any obstacles or blockers preventing your student’s success?

ArtifactsArtifactsDear Ms. Pagan, It was a pleasure meeting with you on Friday, September 30, 2005, to go over your goals and objectives for the 2005-2006 school year. We began the meeting reconciling your class list and going over the data for your class. Currently, 62.5% of your class is at or above Level 3 in mathematics which translates into 10 out of 16 students. In reading, 50% of you class is at or above Level 3. This is 8 out of 16 students in your class. As we went through the list I indicated to you that the school-wide goal for reading is 60%, which translates to 9 students. Yet, we adjusted this goal so that 11 out of your 16 students in your class should meet the Statewide standard of Level 3. Conversely the school-wide goal in mathematics is 65%, which translates to 10 students in your class meeting that target in your class. We also adjusted this goal so that 14 out of 16 student in your class should meet the Statewide standard of Level 3. I know that you can meet these goals because they are attainable and you have the ability to do wonders with your children. When talking about your professional goals, I suggested that you should go on some intervisitations as well as being a leader on some of our school visits as a Collaborative Community of Practice. I really think that at this point in your career you should get out and see what other schools and teachers are doing. This will help you not only grow as a teacher but as a person. When talking about your personal goals I again stressed to you that you must do things for yourself. We talked about what was going on in your life right now and I shared with you that you can’t worry about the things in your life that you can not control. Sometimes you just have to let things go and focus on yourself. However, this is the internal struggle that “you” must deal with right now. Ms. Pagan, I think your team is working well and thank you of your support of Ms. Mc Lean. Your support is going to be invaluable as she grows and develops as a teacher, so thank you Finally, submit to me a copy of your BLAP by Friday, October 7, 2005. Again, it was nice meeting with you and I look forward to another conversation in January. I am glad that you are part of our Jaguar family and remember we are here to support you. Sincerely, Dr. Mac

Students

Identify for me the students in your class that will meet the school-wide benchmark in reading and mathematics. How will you continue to support these students so they will continue to meet the standard? (October & January)

Identify for me the students in your class who are “at risk”. What supports will you provide for each of these students so

they will improve? How can I support you in your efforts? (October & January)

Share with me your six-week data on each student in your class and tell me what other support we need to put in place to ensure that each student is successful? (January)

Professionally

What do you want to achieve professionally and how can I support you in this area? (October) What are you struggling with? (October & January) What support do you need in these areas? (October & January) Where are you with your professional goals and how can I continue to support you? (January)

ONE-ON-ONES

GUIDING SCENARIO

Tell me about a difficult situation that you experienced this school year. I would like to know how you dealt with it and what you learned from this situation.

How did this situation inform your instruction?

Note: Integrate the questions that you used in October and January to inform your conversation in April as you make decisions about staff as you organize for the next school year.
