Sorting the Management Tree

• Now that you have added systems you can view them in the management tree

• Clicking one of the health states will populate those systems on the management tree to the left of the dashboard.

• In this example we chose to click the green bar to have all systems with a “Normal” health state show up in the tree.

• In this example we chose to sort by operating system. Of the two total systems running Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise, we chose to look at the one with a degraded heath state by clicking the 1.

• As you can see that system then populated in the management tree on the left. If that box had 10 systems or even 100 systems they would’ve populated in the management tree.

• This is an easy way to get a quick look at health states either by location, function, or operating systems running.

• You also have the option to click a specific group of systems. In this example we chose to view both systems running on Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise.

Expanding the System Area Manager Tree

• System Area Manager provides administrators with an overall view of managed systems, and the capability to drill down to each system and individual components.

• Click on the name of the operating system, function, or location to expand the list of systems in each group. The names and IP addresses of each system will be displayed in the left hand window.

Health Colors

• To quickly identify and correct system problems, SyAM Software uses consistent color schemes to represent the health and functionality of systems and their components

Filtering

• The Filter by health state for the managed systems tree view

– This provides a quick way to identify managed systems that are in a particular health state.

– Show all managed systems or systems in one of the following states regardless of the virtual grouping they are in.

• Managed system health states to Filtering by

– Normal, Degraded, Critical, Shutdown, Unreachable, Agent stopped, Suspended or Unknown.
