Plug the analyzer into a standard wall outlet.

Attach a laptop computer cable to the analyzer.

Turn on the computer and load analyzer software SSA 1000.

Turn the switch at the back of the analyzer to the ON position.

Use the computer to set the analyzer to the Home position.

You can also use the button on the lower right side of the analyzer. The pull rod at the center of the table should move to its uppermost position.

Slide up the large plastic shield at the front of the analyzer. Fold it back onto the top of the analyzer.

Screw one end of the tensile testing sample 1/2 inch into the pull rod adapter. The pull rod adapter extends up at the center of the analyzer table.

Slide the round hollow tensile testing attachment down over the test sample and center it around the pull rod on the analyzer table.

Align the upper end of the test sample thread with the threaded hole in the attachment knob. Thread the knob about ½ inch onto the test sample.

Close the plastic shield on the analyzer so that the two slots shown by the red arrows are located at the bottom edge of the shield seat. The analyzer will not work if the shield is not in the down position.

Select the Graph icon to show the graph on the computer screen.

To run the analyzer, select the start button. If the sample should fail to break, the 1-inch center section of the sample must be turned down more.

After the sample breaks, click the Print button on the computer screen to print the graph.

Raise the plastic shield and remove both ends of the test sample. Repeat previous steps to test the second sample.
