    Surfing is used to describe casual lookingthrough material generally with nothing specificin mind.

    Searching describes looking for somethingspecific, and generally by entering searchterms at a search engine to find informationyou want.

    Surfing is scanning the worldwide web throughlinks from one site to another or one page toanother.

    Searching on the other hand refers to lookingfor specific pieces of information using search
