Chapter I: Installing DiTranslatorThis topic provides a step-by-step procedure for a first-time installation of DiTranslator 8 using the DiTranslator setup installation wizard.

Notes: The instructions in this chapter are NOT for upgrading Trading Partner or an earlier version of

DiTranslator. It is important to note that DiTranslator has an interface with third-party communication

software and your backend system. Therefore, the installation process will involve both of these elements as well.

In order for DiTranslator to be able to set up Trading Partners and Transactions, you need to install the third-party communication software first and then set up an interface for that third-party software supplied by DiCentral.

1. Installing DiTranslator1. On the Authentication Required window, type “dicentral” in the User Name box and

“dicentral” in the Password box. Click the “Log In” button and your file will begin to download.

2. Once the download has finished, unzip the DiTranslator.zip file by double-clicking it.

3. Locate setup.exe and right-click on the file, making sure you select the Run as administrator option.

4. Click Install on the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 window.

When the installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 is finished, the DiTranslator – InstallShield Wizard window is displayed.

5. On the License Agreement window, review the license agreement and, if you agree, click Yes.

6. Click Next on the SAP Crystal Reports Installation Wizard window.

7. On the License Agreement window, review the license agreement and, if you agree, select I accept the License Agreement. Click Next to continue.

8. Click Next on the Start Installation window.

The SAP Crystal Reports window displays the installation status.

9. Once the SAP Crystal Reports install has finished, click Finish.

Setup continues the installation of DiTranslator.

10. On the DiTranslator Setup window, fill out the Customer Information as follows: License Key: Enter your DiCentral License Key. Customer ID: Enter your DiCentral Account Number.

11. To continue, click Next.12. Select Anyone who uses this computer (all users) and click Next.

13. On the Choose Destination window, you can accept the default file path for the DiTranslator installation or change the location by clicking Browse. Click Next to continue.

14. On the next Choose Destination window, you can accept the default file path for the Edata installation or change the location by clicking Browse. Then, click Next to continue.

Notes on SQL Server: If you do not have any form of SQL Server installed on your system, select “Typical”.

DiTranslator will install SQL 2008 Express R2. If you do have SQL Server installed, select “Custom”. DiTranslator will prompt you to select

which SQL Server to use.

15. In this case, select Custom and then click Next.

Notes on Selecting/Clearing the SQL Server Express Check Box: If you do not have any form of SQL Server installed on your system, leave SQL Server Express

checked. If you already have SQL Server installed and want to use it, then clear the SQL Server Express

check box. The installation process will ask you to select which SQL Server to use, unless only one exists.

Apply these rules in the next setup window.

16. Leave SQL Server checked if you want DiTranslator to install SQL Server for you.

17. Clear the SQL Server Express check box if you already have SQL Server installed.

18. To continue, click Next.

19. If you cleared the SQL Server check box in the previous step, your DiTranslator instance is displayed in the Connection Name field. If you have more than one instance, click Browse and locate the instance.

20. Select Windows Authentication and click Next.

The DiTranslator installation process begins and will take a few minutes. During this time, files are loaded and DiTranslator installs the SQL instance.

22. Once the installation process resumes, click Activate to activate the License Key.

23. Click Next on the Installing Trading Partner network and kits window.

24. Click Finish on the Installation Wizard window to complete the installation of DiTranslator.

Note: This completes the installation of DiTranslator. Please refer to the DiTranslator 101 guide for instructions on setting up a Network Buyer and Supplier Kit and how to exchange an 850 (Purchase Order), 810 (Invoice), and 997 (Functional Acknowledgement) between Buyer and Supplier.

2. Verifying the Installation1. Click the Start button, select Programs and verify that DiTranslator and Scheduler have been

installed.

2. Double-click DiTranslator.

The DiTranslator 8 – Server window is displayed.

3. Close the DiTranslator window.4. Start Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server.5. Verify that the DiTranslator SQL ‘instance’ was installed by locating the

MSSQL10_50.DITRANSLATOR folder.

6. Close the Windows Explorer window.
