TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE

If you’ve made a template and saved it to a USB stick, but it doesn’t appear in the index on the display in the template manager—follow the steps outlined below to identify and resolve the issue.

VERIFY THAT FILE IN SAVED IN CORRECT LOCATION

The template file must be saved on the USB memory stick in a folder named “templates” (no quotes).

• Confirm that the folder exists on your USB stick and then use the File>Save to USB option or Save to USB icon to save the template.

• This will automatically place your template in the correct location on the USB device to be recognized by the printer.

VERIFY THAT FILE IS NAMED CORRECTLY

Template files are size specific. For instance, all 210 series printers use a 53mm print head. You can easily identify these files by the last three digits of their file name (the last three characters to the left of the dot):

• For the 130 series (32mm), templates include “_32” • For the 210 series (53mm), templates include “_53” • For the 420 series (107mm), templates include “_107” • For the 500 series (128mm), templates include “_128”

For example, here is the file name for a template named “testimage” created for a 210 series printer – testimage_53.ronx or testimage_53.ron

PLEASE NOTE: You should not manually change a file name to match the printer type. Use the ProCodeTM

program to save and format the file.

VERIFY THAT FILE TRANSFERRED CORRECTLY TO PRINTER MEMORY

Once a template file has been created and saved on the USB device it needs to be copied into template storage on the printer before it will appear on the template selection menu. Please see the separate Template Transfer User Guide for full instructions on how to properly transfer templates.
