![Page 5: User Experience Webinar 1 - Eye-popping Content: Creating a User-friendly Framework](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022052504/5482471bb47959190d8b4775/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Where the User is Coming From…
“In the everyday world, we want to get on with the most important things in life, not spend our time deep in thought attempting to open a can of food or dial a telephone number”
~ Don Norman, 1988

Conclusion about users…
Users are desperate for authoritative information that is contextually arranged and will: > satisfy curiosity > fulfill an information need quickly without overwhelming them > entertain Who Has the Resources to Meet Those Needs? Librarians!
![Page 13: User Experience Webinar 1 - Eye-popping Content: Creating a User-friendly Framework](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022052504/5482471bb47959190d8b4775/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Librarians Excel In…
Creating TaxonomiesPulling Quality Resources TogetherFinding Authoritative Content That Meets NeedsListening to Those Needs

But Missing Piece of the Puzzle is Often…
Content in Context.- We tend to want to organize resources strictly by format- We tend to use terminology they don’t understand- We tend to organize it in a way they don’t get- Users are thinking topics – we are thinking format
![Page 15: User Experience Webinar 1 - Eye-popping Content: Creating a User-friendly Framework](https://reader033.fdocuments.in/reader033/viewer/2022052504/5482471bb47959190d8b4775/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Something to Consider…

~ Thomas Mann
