VPN portal for UiT / Secure connection to UiT The VPN portal connects your private computer to the UiT network via an existing network connection. This grants access to any services or e-resources that require a connection through one of the campus networks. Log on through https://vpn.uit.no. Remember to choose the domain “Employees”. Use the new address field to access e-resources. If you need a complete VPN connection, install the VPN client AnyConnect through the menu on the left side. AnyConnect (SSL client) AnyConnect is used to establish a secure connection to the UiT network on a computer that is connected to a network (private or public) external to UiT. Download AnyConnect through the UiT VPN portal https://vpn.uit.no Citrix Web Client (psweb) The Citrix Web Client grants access to common file areas and administrative applications at UiT. It requires a se- cure connection to the network at UiT. Point a browser at https://cag.uit.no Wireless Guest Network at UiT Guests at UiT can create their own temporary user account with the University of Tromsø in order to get access to the wireless guest network uit-guest. The registry process requires a Norwegian mobile number. 1. Connect to the wireless network uit-guest 2. Start a browser, open a random web page 3. Read the instructions carefully, click “Create a new Guest Network Account” 4. Fill in information in all the required fields, then click “Add User” 5. Username and a password will be sent to the mobile phone number registered shortly 6. Click “Back to Login Page” 7. Enter your username and password, and click “Submit”. Access to this network is provided for residents at the student housing available through the Student Welfare Organisation in Tromsø. User support is provided by Orakelet. Software distributed by UiT

UiT give employees access to software through Software Center (pc) or Managed software (Mac) when you are on campus and through the website https://profil.uit.no/lireg/ when you’re not.

Software provided by UiT is only permitted for installation on personal computers owned by employees currently

employed at UiT. Further distribution of these programs is not permitted. The software must be uninstalled when an

employee is no longer with UiT.

E-resources at the University Library (UB)

E-resources at the University Library include subject and library databases, reference books, and other information. They are available through Ofelaš. You can access Ofelaš through http://uit.no/ub

Access card

Log on to https://adgangskort.uit.no/ to see if your access card is ready. If the card has an active status you can come to Orakelet during opening hours 09:00 till15:45(15:00) to take a picture and get the card printed. Photo ID must be presented before the card can be handed out.

The access card grants access to the UiT campus. They are issued with an access level according to the standard level of access granted to their faculty or unit. The access level can be expanded if needed by contacting the requisitioner at the faculty or by sending an email to [email protected]
