Present tense verbs show action that is happening now. or if the action is regular, true, and normal. Knowing how to form verb tenses will help your writing to tell time punctually.

Here are some rules for forming the present tense.

a. For most verbs, add s: run/runs, walk/walks, jump/jumps.

b. For verbs ending in s, ch, sh, x, and z, add es. press/presses, teach/teaches, push/pushes, mix/mixes, buzz/buzzes

c. For verbs ending with a consonant and y, change y to i and add es. cry- - cries fly flies try tries supply supplies

d. Add s to the verb when the noun in the subject is singular.Example: The dog barks at the snowman. Jill laughs.

e. Do not add s to the verb when the noun in the subject is plural.Ex:The boys stand at the back.
