Using Maps to Visualize Ideas
In 35 years of leading a volunteer-based tutor/mentor program Dan Bassill has had plenty of time to think of ways leading such programs might be easier. As he began to try to communicate those ideas he found many people did not understand what he was talking about. So he begin to draw pictures and create maps to help communicate these ideas.
This presentation includes some of the maps created over the past 18 years.

Building Learning Communities
The graphics on these pages point to a
wide range of ideas and information.
This cannot be covered in a single
reading nor understood without a
context of hands-on involvement.
Thus, our goal is that learning groups,
reading circles, discussion groups, etc.
form in business, churches, colleges,
high schools and civic/social
organizations. If one person invites
others to view this information the
same way people come together on a
regular basis to read and understand
scripture, or political ideas, then the
information we point to can be ideas
millions of people grow to understand
and apply.

Without expanding the network of people looking at this information and building involvement from resource providers, policy makers and all other stakeholders, the information has limited value.
