COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis program will focus on providing the attendees an update on the latest aspects of ophthalmic best practices across the field, research updates regarding recently approved therapies for ophthalmic diseases, and updated research regarding pipeline therapies that may soon be available.

COURSE OBJECTIVESBy the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Identify and discuss the most recent techniques in the management of ocular conditions.

• Apply current research findings to better diagnose and manage patients with a variety of ocular diseases in the general ophthalmology clinic.

• Examine the benefits of preventive medicine in the management of degenerative ocular disease.

• Appreciate the rationale for recent efforts used to attempt to mitigate the severity of or to regenerate the functions that are lost due to degenerative ocular disease.

TARGET AUDIENCEThis course is intended for the comprehensive ophthalmologist, ophthalmic subspecialties, ophthalmoloy residents and fellows and optometrists.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENTThe Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
