Chapter 1 Getting started Thank you for purchasing USB Flash Memory (TransMemory™). This product has the following features. • This USB Flash Memory uses Toshiba NAND Flash Memory technology. It

can be used in a PC as a removable disk. • It is powered by a USB port bus, so no AC adapter is required. * With the exception of use for one’s personal enjoyment and the like, according

to the Copyright Law of Japan, content that you record cannot be used without permission from the holder of the appropriate rights.

* While writing data to or reading data from TransMemory™ do not shake or subject to impact, turn off power or remove TransMemory™ from the device. Doing so may cause failure of TransMemory™ or the device that is connected to, or the destruction or loss of data stored in TransMemory™.

This manual provides a brief description of how to install and use the Updater. To ensure proper usage, please read it carefully before using this product. • Windows is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation in the United

Chapter 2 System requirements This product requires the following hardware and software in order to function properly.

Chapter 3 Installing the Updater This chapter describes how to install the Updater in order to use this product on Windows Vista™. Install the Updater correctly by following the instructions below.

1. Installing the Updater Make sure to connect this product to your PC before installing the Updater. Exit all other applications. 1.1. Installing the Updater with Security disabled 1) Start up Windows®. 2) Access the webpage for downloading the Updater. 3) Double-click the appropriate file 4) Click "Save" in the dialog box.

5) When the Save As dialog box appears, select "Desktop".

6) The following dialog box will appear when the download is completed. Click

"Close".

7) You will find the new executable file that you downloaded, named

"U3updater_toshiba_U2H_Ver1.055.exe", saved to your Desktop. Double-click this file's icon.

8) The driver installation program will start. The following dialog box will appear,

and then disappear automatically.

When the next dialog box appears, select "Accept" and click "Next".

When the next dialog box appears, enter a password in the "Password" and "Retype password" fields.

Click "Next".

The following dialog box will appear, and then disappear automatically.

A backup file will be created in a predefined folder.

9) When the following dialog box appears, click "Done". This completes the

installation of the TransMemory™ Updater.

* Re-insert your TransMemory™ into your PC's USB port. This completes the installation of the TransMemory™ Updater. Once the Updater is installed, it can be used simply by connecting your TransMemory™ to your PC's USB port. Once installation is completed, you may delete the TransMemory™ executable file downloaded in Step 7, named "U3updater_toshiba_U2H_Ver1.055.exe".

Once installation is completed, you may also delete the backup file created in Step 8.

1.2. Installing the Updater with Security enabled 1) Start up Windows®. 2) Access the webpage for downloading the Updater. 3) Double-click the appropriate file. 4) Click "Save" in the dialog box.

Chapter 4 Launchpad Tour instructions after installing Updater

This chapter describes instructions regarding the Launchpad Tour program after installing the U3 Launchpad Updater. Perform the procedure correctly by following the instructions below.

1. Launchpad Tour instructions 1.1. Launchpad Tour instructions on Windows Vista™ The current Launchpad Tour does not support Windows Vista™. We recommend that you delete "AutoRun" in Launchpad Tour after performing an update. A version of Launchpad Tour that supports Windows Vista™ is scheduled for release in the summer of 2007. 1) Start Launchpad.

2) Right-click on "Launchpad Tour" and select "Properties".

3) When the next dialog box appears, click "Remove Program".

4) Then click "Yes" in the following dialog box.

Launchpad Tour has now been removed. 1.2. Launchpad Tour instructions on Windows® 2000/XP Launchpad Tour supports Windows® 2000/XP. We recommend that you disable the "AutoRun" in Launchpad Tour after performing an update. 1) Start Launchpad.

2) Right-click on "Launchpad Tour" and select "Properties".

3) When the next dialog box appears, uncheck "Start on Insertion".

4) Click "Close".

Launchpad Tour's "Start on Insertion" option is now disabled.
