From what started on a remote farm in Idaho with a homemade pressure cooker distiller, Young Living has grown into the World Leader in Essential Oils®—an international presence with markets and farms around the world. SEED TO SEALSEED – Potent essential oils come from plant species that have been authenticated by Young Living and industry experts through scientific research, field study, university partnerships, and on-site planting certification. Selecting seeds that produce the highest value is a vital first step in our Seed to Seal process.

CULTIVATE – Young Living’s knowledge of soil preparation, balance of sun and water, responsible weed and pest control, and wild craft harvesting ensure that stringent standards are met, both on our own farms as well as with our carefully monitored partner farms. We continue to conduct research and remain dedicated to growing the highest quality aromatic plants.

DISTILL – Combining ancient and modern techniques, Young Living’s low-pressure steam distillation process ensures that the beneficial plant compounds in each batch of essential oil remain uncompromised. This step is completed at just the right time to ensure all beneficial constituents are present to maximize the quality of the oil. Additionally, we use tree resin hydrodistillation for select oils and cold pressing techniques for most of our citrus essential oils.

TEST – Young Living never accepts diluted, cut, or adulterated essential oils. To guarantee consistent quality, our essential oils are tested in our own internal labs, as well as in third-party facilities, to ensure that they meet demanding specifications, exceed international standards, and contain the optimal levels of natural bioactive molecules.

SEAL – We complete our Seed to Seal process by carefully sealing and inspecting each bottle of essential oil at our 107,000-square-foot state-of-the-art clean-room facility and then shipping to members worldwide. Individual bottle labels are encoded with detailed tracking information that allows Young Living to trace each bottle of essential oil back to its source.

AROUND THE GLOBE

To ensure that Young Living is able to control every step of the Seed to Seal process, we own eight farms on four continents and partner or co-op farm with many other farms around the world. Gary Young personally travels the globe to scout farms that offer ideal conditions for growing our premium botanicals. This personal, direct involvement in the growing process is what allows us to ensure that each product delivers the purity and efficacy our members have come to expect.

HIGHLAND FLATS, NAPLES, IDAHO, USAThe site of both the Winter Harvest and Spring Replanting events, the scenic Highland Flats Tree Farm is where

members are able to experience our Seed to Seal process firsthand. The farm grows and distills Idaho balsam fir, Western red cedar, pine, Idaho blue spruce, and other conifers and is the home of the world's first fully automated, state-of-the-art distillery.

ST. MARIES, IDAHO, USAThese now-200 acres of pristine farmland were Gary Young’s first farm purchase and where Young Living started. Never before or since exposed to harmful, modern farming techniques, this farm grows botanicals such as lavender, melissa, and tansy.

NORTHERN LIGHTS, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADAPurchased in 2014, our Northern Lights farm grows and will soon distill black spruce, ledum, yarrow,

and other botanicals. As part of our commitment to sustainability, this scenic farm will also be the site of continuous reforestation of the trees we harvest, including the black spruce trees, which are crucial for our popular Valor essential oil blend.

Pa r t n e r Fa r m sBesides our own farms, Young Living partially owns many others around the world in partnership with independent growers. Our partners agree to adhere strictly to our Seed to Seal process and are carefully vetted for compliance. Through our partner farms, Young Living is able to support local independent farming while maintaining our absolute commitment to quality.

C o - o p Fa r m sWe also source many of our essential oils from co-op farms around the world. These respected growers work exclusively with Young Living and pledge to adhere strictly to our Seed to Seal process. As an investor in these farms, we closely monitor the quality and authenticity of the botanicals and oils they provide.

Q u a l i f i e d Ve n d o r sWe also purchase many of our essential oils from a variety of global vendors whose suppliers abide by our stringent, demanding Seed to Seal process. We rigorously and thoroughly test the essential oils provided by these vendors.

MONA, UTAH, USAOur farm in Mona has been growing lavender, hyssop, clary sage, peppermint, goldenrod, and more since 1995. It now also grows einkorn grain. This beautiful farm hosts our annual Lavender Days celebration and many other special events.

SIMIANE-LA-ROTONDE, FRANCECelebrated for its rolling hills and fields of fragrant lavender, the region of Provence, France, is home to our third farm. This picturesque

farm grows lavender, lavandin, rosemary, clary sage, and einkorn grain.

GUAYAQUIL, ECUADORThe lush, fertile soil in Guayaquil creates a superb environment to grow unique and rare botanicals such as eucalyptus blue, ylang ylang, chocolate,

dorado azul, and ocotea, among many others. This farm’s state-of-the-art distillery is the largest in South America.

SALALAH, OMANSince 2010 Young Living has partnered with local Omani harvesters to obtain and secure our supply of Sacred Frankincense resin.

Young Living is the first and only company in the world to obtain permission to distill and export this precious essential oil and bring it into the Western world.

IQUITOS, PERUAfter much investigation and interaction with government officials, Young Living has purchased more than 3,400 acres of wild

Amazon rain forest, where we are building a distillery, researching wild-crafting of native plants and trees, and distilling them to produce essential oils for Young Living.

INTERNALLY When taking essential oils internally, try these tips:

• Place several drops of oil into a gelatin capsule (see page 49) and swallow with water.

• Add 1–2 drops of essential oil to a glass of water, NingXia Red®, juice, yogurt, your favorite sweetener of choice, or plant-based milk and swallow.

• Add 1–2 drops of oil (to taste) to meals when cooking.

AROMATICALLY

Use essential oils aromatically to uplift the spirit.

• Rub 2–3 drops of essential oil between your palms and inhale.

• Add a few drops of essential oil to a bowl of hot water. Cover your head and bowl with a towel. Breathe deeply and slowly.

• Use your favorite essential oils in our diffusers.

TOPICALLY

Many essential oils are safe and beneficial to use directly on the skin.

• Place 2–3 drops of essential oil directly on the desired area and massage in. Repeat as desired. Always follow the label’s dilution instructions.

Caution: Essential oils are very potent and may be irritating to the skin. If irritation occurs, apply Young

Living’s V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex or any pure vegetable oil to the area to dilute. Citrus-based oils and

blends may cause temporary photosensitivity.
