an excess demand and small supply, opportunities abound in the region for U.S. Institutions to recruit students to their respective campuses, build and increase exchange program opportunities and develop partnership ventures with new schools. Join us for this program and learn how to best position your school in the market to attract students. We will be covering these topics and many more….

How are effective schools targeting HK Students? What strategies are they using? Impact of Social Networking on Recruitment efforts What strengths do HK students see from US Schools vs competitors schools and how can we

leverage that against other recruiting countries? What are the best methods for interacting with students ( agents, fairs, etc)? We can’t pay agents. Are there other way to work an agent agreement? Compare the Community colleges, ESL programs and Universities as seen by the HK students

Catalogue Road Show Example – China 2009

China is one of the hottest international student markets. In academic year 2007/08, over 80,000 Chinese students went to the United States to study. That’s roughly a 30 percent increase from two years ago. China is the second leading place of origin for students coming to the United States, following India. U.S. schools compete aggressively with Great Britain, Australia and Canada.

China Education Exhibition (CEE) is one of China’s largest education fairs. Around 40 U.S.

colleges and universities will exhibit at CEE with the goal of recruiting Chinese students to attend their school. CEE will be running from Oct 16-18 in Beijing, and Oct 24-25 in Shanghai. An estimated 70,000 parents and students will attend CEE in Beijing and Shanghai to investigate overseas education opportunities. Schools from around the world will be in attendance.

CS Beijing and Shanghai will be going to do a US Education Catalog Event in

CS/EducationUSA booth at China Education Expo 2009. CEE CS/EducationUSA Catalog Show Benefits: • Professional representation by the U.S. Commercial Service staff • Market exposure for your University in our Catalog Show Booth • Premium location • Briefing visitors and exhibitors on your University. • Featuring your products/services and stated objectives on our Website:

www.buyusa.gov/china • Low-cost service (Participation Fee: Only US $ 100 per stop, US $ 200 both cities)
