UN Climate negotiations in South Africa are on the brink. Some of the world’s major polluters are trying to strangle progress

and appear dead set on blocking global efforts to tackle climate change.

Climate change is already devastating much of Africa through drought, deforestation, desertification, and the famine and war they cause. Scientists say the continent will be hit much harder, much earlier than the rest of the world. Without urgent

action, major polluters will effectively be signing a death sentence for Africa. It’s a battle for survival. To win, the world

desperately needs climate heroes from Europe, Brazil and China to step forward and deliver a strong climate deal in South

Africa. In the last three days over 500,000 people have called upon them to do so at avaaz.org/durban.

The world cannot wait. History will judge all countries by the actions they take today.
