MARASSILocated northwest of Alexandria, on the shores of the Mediterranean, the Marassi Beach Club House is envisioned as the place to see and be seen in this exclusive resort community. The building features two pools, spas, a restaurant, multipurpose rooms, beach cabanas and a stunning view of the sea.

After losing their Laguna Beach home in a tragic landslide, the Stevens family decided to rebuild

their house overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In order to insure stability the new house will be

anchored into solid bedrock by several concrete piers. The hill may slide again, but the house is not gong anywhere. This model was prepared

to show the client and the city’s notoriously strict architectural review board how the home would fit

into the new grading of the site while preserving neighbor’s ocean and mountain views.

Overview of the Mission Avenue Redevelopment Project

Poised between the Strand and the heart of downtown Oceanside, the Mission Avenue

redevelopment zone consists of 5 city blocks ready for redevelopment. The project site

surrounds Mission Avenue, the main thoroughfare that links downtown to the beach. The new

Mission Avenue will incorporate a variety of shops, restaurants, and residences to focus on a vibrant,

pedestrian-scaled street scene.

Located directly across the Huangpu River from Shanghai’s financial district , this site is

currently occupied by heavy industry and high rise residential towers. The local government is seeking to redevelop the site as a riverfront

park, lined with high rise luxury residential and office condominium towers, vertically mixed use

office and retail buildings, and a world class entertainment district. This plan links all of these

uses together with a linear park system and was prepared as part of an international design competition held by private developers and the

government.

This development will be an example of sustainability that balances the needs of the environment, community, and the economy. The project would include an environmentally friendly office park and a nature preserve. Features such as the visitor’s center and greenhouse will honor the agricultural heritage of the site by renewing the connection between people and the land they live on.

This vision for a metropolitan transit system includes both an expansion of the currently

planned streetcar network and several light rail rapid transit lines. This modern transportation

system will revitalize both the region and the city’s economy and help Cincinnati reclaim her crown as

The transportation network of Santorini, while more than adequate to serve the needs of the local population, is overloaded by the large numbers of tourists that visit the island. This plan calls for both the improvement of a number of transportation corridors as well as the island’s ports and airport. Of special importance is the way that the existing road and pedestrian circulation networks serve tourist destinations within the settlement of Fira.

This striking art deco train station with its soaring half dome rotunda and ornate murals houses three museums as well as an Omnimax Theater and

the Cincinnati Historical Society. The monumental station was built in to combine the many train stations scattered throughout the city. Although

train traffic rapidly declined following WWII Amtrak restored service in and the station is slated to be the terminus for Ohio’s high speed rail line.

Anchored by Paul Brown Stadium, Great American Ballpark, and the Freedom Center, this six block mixed-use development will reconnect

downtown with the river. When completed the banks will include three million square feet of residential, retail, restaurant, hotel, and office space and a world class acre park. This long anticipated project is a stunning example of the city’s transformation and the realization of its aspirations.

Cincinnati’s Contemporary Art Center is well known for it’s bold dedication to exhibiting cutting edge and often contraversial work. So it was only fitting

when they commissioned the ground-breaking deconstructivist architect Zaha Hadid to design their new home in downtown’s entertainment district. Upon

its completion in it was hailed by the New York Times as “the most important American building to be completed since the end of the cold war”.

Fountain Square has been the heart of Cincinnati since it’s construction in . The Tyler Davidson fountain which gives the square it’s name was cast at the Royal Bavarian Foundry in Munich. The ornate fountain was

commissioned by Henry Probasco as a memorial for his brother-in-law and a gift to the people of Cincinnati. The square was renovated in and hosts countless lunches, performances, demonstrations, and a seasonal skating rink.

At ’ this soaring skyscraper has displaced the Carew Tower as the tallest building in Cincinnati. Like it’s predecessor the tower has been completed in

spite of a serious economnic downturn and is a monument to the city’s resolve in the face of adversity. The ‘ crown on top of the building was

designed by the architect Gyo Obata as a tribute to the city’s nickname and is a fitting reminder of Cincinnati’s potential as the once and future queen city.

This signature bridge with it’s massive pylons, roman arches, and delicate cables, was the first to connect Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and has

served as a symbolic gateway to the city since it’s completion in . This daring feat of engineering had the world’s longest suspension span at the

time of it’s completion and was designed by John A. Roebling who used the lessons he learned in Cincinnati to design New York City’s Brooklyn Bridge.

The streetcar will connect Downtown and Over the Rhine through a four mile loop that serves Fountain Square, the Contemporary Arts Center, Music Hall, and Findlay Market. The streetcar will attract new businesses and residents to the city by encouraging redevelopment of the city’s urban core. Future phases will expand south to Great American Tower, the Banks Development, and the

Roebling Bridge, north to UC and the zoo, and west to UnionTerminal.
