First Steps on the Desktop

Using the URA 2.0 Application

The URA 2.0 application should automatically be installed on your PC.

You will then find URA 2.0 in the taskbar.

If you cannot find URA 2.0, please contact your local Service Desk.

Hint: If you use URA 2.0 regularly, you can pin

it to your taskbar so it’s even easier to access.

After opening URA 2.0, just right-click on this icon

in the taskbar and select “Pin to taskbar”.

Please note that the URA 2.0 software package is called Pulse Secure,

so you will find it under this name when using this interface.

Connection

Connecting with URA 2.0

To establish a connection to the Siemens

Intranet click on the link, as marked in the

image.

You will automatically be connected within

seconds to the Siemens Intranet and can

access applications as easily as if you were

in the office.

Authentication

Whenever you start URA 2.0, you will need

PKI authentication. Execute authentication.

Now you can use URA 2.0 as your new

access solution! Anywhere. Anytime.

If your PKI card or PKI reader is defective,

please follow instructions on page 4 in order

to connect using URA 2.0.

Entitlement integration is planned for

Release II (Q1 calendar year 2018).

Please note that you cannot connect to URA

2.0 from inside the Siemens network.

Connection

Authentication – Troubleshooting

In case your PKI card or PKI reader is defective, please follow these

instructions to manually configure entitlement and connect using URA

2.0:

1. Open Pulse Secure

2. Then add an additional Connection, by clicking “+” to the right of

“Connections”

3. Enter Name: URA 2.0 SAML and Server URL:

https://ura.siemens.com/saml

4. Choose ”add”

5. Now you can connect to the ”URA 2.0 SAML” without your PKI card

6. After clicking ”Connect”, a browser window will pop-up for the

entitlement login

7. You may need to resize this window to enter the entitlement login

credentials

8. Login to entitlement as usually with OTP, SMS or Mobile app

If you still cannot connect using URA 2.0, please contact

your local Service Desk .

URA 2.0 at a glance

URA 2.0 allows you to access the Siemens Intranet from a remote site

(home, hotel, airport, etc.) whenever you need it. After successful

authentication and connection, you are ready to access the Siemens

Intranet and other resources you might need.

will be suspended

but you can still use

your local

environment.

After suspending your

connection, you can resume

your session and reconnect.

How to save a log file

1. Click “File” in the upper left corner of URA 2.0 and select “Logs".

2. Then, click “Log Level” and choose “Detailed”.

3. Go to “File” > “Logs” and click “Save as”.

This file should be uploaded to your ticket in myIT under "Add attachments".

•If you have technical problems, please open a ticket in the myIT portal or

call your Service Desk .

Please note: For more efficient support attach the URA 2.0 "Log file“ in the ticket. This

helps the Service Desk agent to determine your problem more quickly (see page 9 for

further details).

2. Access the UCMS Control

Center and click on “Install

Software”

3. Select and install “Juniper Pulse

Client (5.3.2.853) [ERA000049]”

4. Then, install URA 2.0 connection

[ERA000050-1.0.0.0]

5. Reboot the PC

6. Login and verify that URA 2.0

has been installed properly with the

connection setting.

7. You are now ready to connect

(follow instructions on the next

page).

Appendix: Manual Installation and Connection

In case URA 2.0 is not automatically installed on your PC due to either software

distribution problems or uninstalling, please install/re-install it manually, following

these steps:

1. Make sure that previous version of URA 2.0 (Pulse Secure) has been

uninstalled and that the PC has been rebooted after uninstalling took place.

Manual Installation

When the installation had finished, please

configure the connection:

1. Open URA 2.0 (Pulse Secure)

2. Choose “+” in the connections screen.

3. Enter connection details:

- Name: URA 2.0

- Server URL: https://ura.siemens.com

Click “Add”.

4. Insert your PKI card and test the connection.

Notes:

• If your PKI card or PKI reader is defective, please

follow instructions on page 4 in order to connect using

URA 2.0.

• Please contact your local Service Desk if you still

have problems with URA 2.0 installation/connection.
