Upshur County Regional AirportWhat we will be doing:
• Extend runway to 4200’ x 75’ with higher weight capabilities
• Rehabilitate existing 3500’ of runway and increase weight capabilities
• Prepare south peninsula for hangars and additional apron
• Install perimeter fencing

• Instrument Approaches (GPS and VOR)
• PAPI and REIL’s on R/W 11
• Helipad
• Additional ramp lighting for south apron
• Additional snow removal equipment
• Extension of runway to 5100’
• Partial parallel taxiways to R/W ends
2003-2004 FAA Projects
• Runway extension - Earthwork. 425,000 cubic yards of earth relocated, many trees removed, sediment pond built, and other drainage issues addressed. Cost:$2,089,724 ($104,486 state, $104,486 local match)

• South Peninsula work - Relocate 180,000 cubic yards of material, build sediment and retention pond, install asphalt taxiway and apron with signage and lighting, remove obstructions on approaches, address drainage issue on north side of runway, install pad for helicopters. Cost:$1,737,429 ($100,402 state, $73,340 local match)
2004-2005 FAA Projects
• Rehabilitate, strengthen, and re-pave existing 3500’ of runway and pave new 700’ section for continuous surface. Install lighting for added runway section, mark and stripe entire runway.
• Install perimeter fencing around airport. (12’ chain-link-3’ buried, 9’ exposed with 3 strands barbed wire at top)

• Operations have more than doubled over same time last year
• We have sold more than 18,000 gallons of Avgas and 8,000 of Jet A fuel
• More than 50% of our operations are transient aircraft (business for the community)
