The MahamayaTechnical University (MTU) , Noida will not be responsible for any delay in receiving theON-Line mode submission or OMR application form, which may be either on the part of the Post Officeor for any other reason whatsoever.5. Do not fold OMR application form nor attach any enclosure with it.6. ThisEntranceExaminationisopenonlytothecandidateswhohavepassedthequalifyingexaminationfromanyinstitutionlocatedinU.P.orwhoseparentsaredomicileof U.Psubjecttotheeligibilityconditionsgiveninthis Information Brochure.IfthecandidatehaspassedqualifyingexaminationfromoutsideofU.P.,he/shehastoproducedomicilecertificateofhis/herparents(FatherandORMotheronly) at the time of verification of documents. However, 20% seats of B.Tech. and B.Arch. courses in allinstitutionsshallbefilled based onmeritofAIEEE-2011,outofwhich10%seatsshallbe through AllIndia merit without reservation and rest 10% on State of U.P. merit as per UP reservation Act, 2006.7. There is no age limit for admission to the courses covered in UPSEE- 2011 unless otherwise specified inthis Brochure.8. Acceptingadmission in any institutionimpliesacceptancebythecandidate andhis/herparents orguardians,of alltheprovisionsgiveninthis Brochure.Anychangeintherules,regulations,fees andspecial conditions etc. of that institution shall mutatis mutandis apply to the admitted candidate.9. Candidates seeking advantage of reserved categories, weightage etc. are required to indicate the same butnot to enclose any supporting certificates with the application form. These certificates in original willhavetobeproducedatthetimeof documentverification alongwithoneattestedcopyofeachoneofthem. The proforma of certificates are given at the end of this Information Brochure at Appendix-C, thesearesubject tochange even upto thestarting dateof verification asperordersofGovt.ofUttarPradesh.Notethatthecertificateno.2forOBCcandidateswillbeentertainedonlywhenitisissuedonorafter01.04.2011 (mandatory due to conditions of creamy layer for OBC).10. Candidates,whoareduetoappearatthequalifyingexaminationorhaveappeared, butresultsareawaited, are also eligible to appear in the UPSEE- 2011. However, the candidates in respect of whom, theresult of the qualifying examination has not been declared by the date of document verification due to anyreason whatsoever, shall not be eligible for admission under any circumstances.11. The result of UPSEE- 2011 declared by MTU, Noida shall be final. However, the candidate can get his/her answer sheets scrutinized on payment of Rs. 5000/- per paper within 07 days of declaration of result.The application for scrutinymay be submitted to The Registrar (UPSEE-2011), MTU, Noida, online orin writing.12. Ifanydocument/declarationsubmittedbythecandidateisfoundtobefalseatanystage,his/heradmission shall be cancelled and he/she may be liable for prosecution under the law. In case of any legaldispute, the jurisdiction will be limited to G.B. Nagar courts only.13. The candidate must himself/herself ensure about his/her eligibility to appear in the Entrance Examination.If a candidate, who is not eligible to appear in the examination, does so; he/she will not have any claimwhatsoever, for admission to any course through UPSEE- 2011.14. The cost of Information Brochure and OMR Application form inclusive of entrance Examination Fee forUPSEE- 2011 orON-Lineapplicationsubmission, isRs.1000/- forGeneral&OBCCategoryandRs.500/- for female of all Categories and SC/ST categories for all courses.15. The number of Colleges/Institutions, courses and in take seats may increase or decrease upto the startingdate of counselling.16. If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the gradesheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent marks, and submit itatthetimeof documentverification.Incase,suchacertificateisnotprovidedbythecandidate,thedecision of the Central Admission Board (CAB) regarding his/her eligibility shall be final.317. The allotment of seat through counselling will be carried out strictly in accordance with the UPSEE- 2011merit of the candidate, order of choice preference given for the seats, and availability of vacant seat in thecategory. Once the seat is allotted to the candidate, no change in the Institution/Branch is admissibleafter couselling.18. The fee paid at the time of counselling by the candidate after the allotment of seat will be forfeitedand will not be refunded under any circumstances if the candidate does not take admission on the allottedseat.19. NotutionfeeshallbechargedfromeligibleSC/STcandidates inthe institutionsaffilliatedtoMTU,Noida or GBTU, Lucknow at the time of granting admission as per U.P. Govt. order no. 37 Bhaa.Sa./26-03-04-4(77)/02dated:18-06-04.Arelaxationinthe tutionfeeamountequaltotutionfeeofGovernment Institutions has been granted to OBC/General Category Economically weaker students bythe Govt. vide order no. 4136/solah-1-2008-135/2008 dated: 8-10-08 and 2991/solah-1-2008-14(34)/2008dated:16-09-08.Theinstitutionswillchargetutionfeeaftergrantingthisrelaxationtotheeligiblecandidates asperthecurrentfeestructuredetermined bythefee determination committee vide websitewww.afrcup.in. CENTRAL ADMISSION BOARD (CAB)Theentranceexaminationfordegreelevelengineeringinstitutions andmanagementandotherprofessional colleges has been assigned to Mahamaya Technical University, Noida vide Govt. order no.4260/solah-12009-13(7)/09 dated 18-01-2010. Further, the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Technical EducationDepartment,videofficeorderhasconsentedfortheconstitutionofCentralAdmissionBoard(CAB)undertheChairmanshipoftheVice Chancellor, MahamayaTechnicalUniversity,Noida tosuperviseand control the State Entrance Examination herein after referred as UPSEE- 2011 being conducted byMTU,Noida.TheCABhas absoluterightforconducting of UPSEE- 2011,andtodecideaboutmodalities of admissions and allotment of seats. The jurisdiction of CAB extends to colleges/institutesaffiliatedtoGBTU,LucknowandMTU,Noida. TheCABisauthorisedtotakeeverydecisionregarding conduct and admissions through UPSEE.2 MODE OF ADMISSION2.1 ADMISSION TO FIRST YEARThe Entrance Examination for admission to first year of the following courses offered at the InstitutionsaffiliatedtoGBTU,LucknowandMTU,Noida includingothermentioneduniversitiessituatedinterritoryofUttar Pradeshfortheacademicyear2011-12 shallbeconductedbyMahamayaTechnicalUniversity, Noida, as UPSEE- 2011.(i) 4 year B. Tech./B.Tech. (Ag. Engg.) Course (iv) 4 year BHMCT Course(ii) 4 year B.Pharm. Course (v) 2 year MBA Course(iii) 5 year B.Arch. Course (vi) 3 year MCA Course(iv) 4 year BFAD Course2.2 DIRECT ADMISSION (LATERAL ENTRY) TO SECOND YEAR (FOR DIPLOMA HOLDERS& B.SC. GRADUATES)(i)* Theeligiblecandidates(Referclause3.3)seekingdirectadmissiontosecondyearofB.Tech.(forengineeringdiplomaholdersandB.Sc.graduatesboth)orB.Pharm.(onlyfor Pharmacydiplomaholders)ininstitutionsaffiliatedtoGBTU,LucknowandMTU,Noida,arerequiredtosubmittheapplicationformstoRegistrar,MahamayaTechnicalUniversity,Noidaby 04thMarch,2011.Suchcandidates are also required to appear in the specified paper of entrance examination.(ii) # Such seats are limited to a maximum of 10% in addition to the sanctioned intake in institutions/collegesfor different courses at first year level.(iii) Direct admission to second year shall not be made in B.Arch./BHMCT/BFAD/MBA/MCA Courses.2.3 SEATS UNDER DIFFERENT QUOTA IN FIRST YEAR(i) NumberofadmissionsinallcoursesofferedatGovt./Govt.aidedInstitutionsaffiliated toGBTU,Lucknow and MTU, Noida, will be 100% through UPSEE- 2011, after deducting the seats filled underclause 2.4.(ii) As per the decision of Honble Supreme Court, State Govt. has permitted 15% of total sanctioned seatsavailableinPrivateInstitutionstobefilledbytheNRIcandidatesunderManagementquota;andthesame shall be filled up in accordance with the procedure prescribed in the Govt. orders. The remainingseats in various courses offered at all the Private Institutions affiliated to GBTU, Lucknow and MTU,Noida, will be filled through UPSEE- 2011 counselling.(iii) State Govt. has also permitted 20% of total sanctioned seatsavailable in all affiliated Institutions to befilled by AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) merit. Out of which 10% seats will befilled through by U.P.domicile candidateson UP Statemerit usingU.P.state reservation policy,andthe rest of 10% seats will be filled through All India merit candidates without reservation.(iv) Thus,65%oftheseatsavailablein all institutionswillbefilledbythe UPSEE-2011qualifiedcandidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from any institution located in U.P. or whoseparentsaredomicileofU.Psubjecttotheeligibilityconditionsgiveninthis Information Brochure.If AsperAICTENotificationsF-11-140/2004-NRO/AICTE-33dated9-06-2004&F.37-3/Legal/2007dated 12.01.07 and U.P.Govt. ThesesupernumeraryseatsshallbeexclusivelymeantfortheFN/PIO/CIWGCstudentsin undergraduatecourseswiththeconditionthatundernocircumstancesaseatremainedunfilledshallbeallocatedtocandidatesotherthanaFN/PIO/CIWGC.Thecandidates,optingforadmissionunderthisquota,neednot appear in UPSEE- 2011.2.7 ADMISSION TOFEEWAIVERSEATSFORWOMEN,ECONOMICALLYWEAKER ANDPHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED MERITORIOUS STUDENTSAs per AICTE notification no. 37-03/legal/2007 dated 09.04.2007 and U.P. Govt. order no. 545/ solah-1-2008-1(1)/08 dated 23.04.2008FeeWaiverseatsforWomen,EconomicallyweakerandPhysicallyHandicapped meritorious candidates are also available in B.Tech/ B.Arch/ B.Pharm/ B.HMCT coursesinallstate/statefundedinstitutions,andsuchaffiliatedprivateinstitutionswhoindicatetheirwillingnesstoparticipateintheschemetoGBTU, LucknowandMTU,Noida.Notuitionfeewillbechargedfromthecandidatesadmittedagainstsuchseats.Thefeewaiverseatswillbelimitedtomaximumof10%oftheapprovedintakeinthe courseandwillbeoverandabovethesanctionedintake.Typicallyforevery60sanctionedin takeinabranch/disciplineofstudy,TuitionFeewaivershall be given to TWO women candidates, THREE economically weaker candidates (Annual income ofparents/ guardians less thanRs.2.5 lac fromall sources) andONEphysicallyhandicappedstudentonMERIT at the time of counseling. The economically weaker students must submit certificate no. 12(incomecertificate)atthetimeof documentverification.Physicallyhandicappedstudentswillhavetosubmittheappropriatecertificateinsupportofhis/herclaimatthetimeof documentverification.3 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIAThecandidatesmustfulfilltheeligibilitycriteriaasgiveninclause3.1,3.2and3.3toappearinUPSEE- 2011.However,thecandidatesappearinginthequalifyingexaminationsarealsoeligibletoappear, subject totheconditionthattheymustfulfilltheeligibilitycriteriaasgiveninclause3.1,3.2and 3.3 at the time of document verification.3.1 ELIGIBILITYTOAPPEARIN UPSEE- 2011 FORADMISSIONTOFIRSTYEAROFB.TECH./B.PHARM./B.ARCH./BHMCT/BFAD(i) Thesubjectcombinationrequiredinthe qualifyingexamination (intermediateexaminationofU. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent) for admission to first year of different coursesshall be as under:-Course Compulsory Subjects Anyone of the following SubjectsB. Tech. (AgricultureEngg.) onlyAgriculture discipline.BHMCT/BFAD Any discipline.(ii) ForadmissiontofirstyearofB.Tech./B.Pharm.,candidatemusthave clearly passed withoutgrace,intermediateexaminationofU.P.Boardor10+2levelexaminationoritsequivalentfromanyrecognizedBoard/University;securingminimum40% marks(35%forSC/STcategorycandidates)intotal of required subjectcombinationoftwo compulsorysubjects andoneoptional subjectasgiveninclause 3.1(i).(iii) ForadmissiontofirstyearofBHMCT/BFAD,candidatemusthave clearly passed without grace,intermediateexaminationofU.P.Boardor10+2levelexaminationoritsequivalentfromanyrecognizedBoard/Universitysecuring minimum40%(35%forSC/STcategorycandidates)marksinaggregate.(iv) ForadmissiontofirstyearofB.Arch.,acandidatemusthave clearly passed withoutgrace,intermediateexaminationofU.P.Boardor 10+2 levelexaminationoritsequivalentfromanyrecognized Board/University; securing (i) minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST) and (ii)clearly passed with out grace, each compulsory and optional subjects as given in clause 3.1(i).A candidate possessing three years Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognized by Central/State Govt.,isalsoeligibleforadmissiontofirstyearofB.Arch.only,providedthecandidatehaspassedtheDiploma examination securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate,. Such candidates will have to appearin the entrance examination for first year of B. Arch. MTU may withdraw the permission toappear in UPSEE granted by mistake to a candidate who is not eligible to appear at the UPSEE- 2011evenifanAdmitCardhasbeenissuedandproducedbythecandidatebeforetheconcernedCentreSuperintendent at the examination Centre.13.4 Incaseofanyreportedcorrection,thefinalcorrected admitcard willhaveto bedownloadedfromwebsite www.mtu.ac.in before the examination date.13.5 Since successful candidates are required to produce the Admit Card at the time of document verificationand admission, it should be carefully preserved until the admission process is completed.14 MEDIUM AND MODE OF EXAMINATION & EVALUATIONThe candidates appearing in the UPSEE- 2011 have the option to answer part B of Paper-4 either inEnglish or Hindi. In all cases, the standard English numerals must be used. All question papers (exceptpartBofpaper-4)willcarryobjectivemultiple-choice questions. AnswerswillbeevaluatedbyOMRmethodology.Allquestionpapers forundergraduate admissions(exceptpaper-4)willbeinHindiandEnglish both, but in case of any ambiguity the English version shall be considered final.15 COUNSELLING15.1 Verification of original documents would be done before start of counselling at the centres, Indicated onwebsite www.mtu.ac.in &www.uptu.ac.in. Thepurposewouldbetoverify allreliventandessentialcertificates anddocumentsof, qualifyingexamination,eligibility,category/reservationcertificateandweightageetc.ofthecandidate. Advantage of their reserved category rankshall be provided at the time of allotment of seats depending upon their eligibility.15.4 Allotment of the seats (institute, course and branch) will be made on-line as per the schedule indicatedon websitesafterthecandidatehaslocked his/herchoiceasper availabilitybasedon his/her meritinUPSEE- 201115.5 Counsellingletter ofeligiblecandidate willbe available onthewebsites beforethestartofthedocument verification.15.6 Incasethecandidatesdonotsubmitthepropercategory/reservationcertificateintheprescribedproforma at the time of document verification the advantage of reserved category shall not be providedand they will be treated in General Category. If the candidate has passed qualifying examination fromoutsideofU.P.,he/shehastobringthedomicilecertificateofhis/herparents(FatherORMotheronly). The candidate must note that his/her domicile certificate in place of his/her parents certificate, isnot acceptable and no request shall be entertained for relaxation.15.7 The candidate called for counselling has to deposit Rs. 500/- as counselling fee and Rs. 5000/- as initialfee at the time of document verification. The counselling fee is non-refundable.15.8 ThefeeofRs.5,500/- should bedepositedat anyof thenearestCBSbranchof StateBankofIndia(SBI),Punjab NationalBank(PNB), orBankofBaroda(BOB). The initial fee of Rs.5,000/- willbeforfeitedifthecandidatedoesnottakeadmissioninallottedinstitution.Requestsforreturn of this fee in such cases will not be entertained.15.9 After allotment of seat, the candidate should take printout of his/her allotment letter and deposit chalanso that he can deposit the required amount as indicated on the chalan (Rs. 10000 for General and OBCCategory and Rs. 4000 for SC&ST category Candidates) in any of the indicated CBS branched of SBI,BOB and PNB and report with the letter and copy of the deposited chalan endorsed by the bank to theinstitutefor takingadmissionon or before thelastdateindicatedintheallotment letter, failingwhichthe allotted seat will automatically be cancelled. This part of college/institute fee (Rs. 10,000/Rs. 4,000)isadjustable againsttotalfeepayableatinstitutionifcandidatetakesadmissionatallottedinstitute/university. This amount (Rs. 10,000/Rs. 4,000) will be forfeited if the candidate does not takeadmission in allotted institution and requests for return of this fee in such case will not be entertained.15.10 If a candidate wishes to participate in counselling for more than one course, he/she has to deposite thecounselling fee of Rs. 500/- only, provided he/she has deposited the fee as per clause-15.9.15.11 Special drive for re-counselling will be conducted for filling the vacant seats of reserve categories. Thedetailed procedure for re-counselling of special drive shall be displayed on the websites at the time ofcounselling. During the special drive for re-counselling, fee will be collected in the following manner:(a) Rs. 5000/- as initial fee and Rs. 500/- as re-counselling fee from those who have not been allottedany seat in earlier counselling or not participated in earlier counselling or seat is cancelled in earliercounselling as per clause 15.9.(b) Rs. 500/- only as re-counselling fee from those who would like to shift to other choice.15.12 All theabove offees canbedepositedintheCBSBranchesofanyoftheabove banks(SBI,PNB,BOB)15.13 Basedonmeritin UPSEE- 2011 thecounsellingwillbeconductedon-linethroughinternetintwophases.InPhase-I,whichwillbe mockcouselling,thecandidatesshouldexercisetheirchoices fromany place of their convenience through internet to get an idea about indicative choice allotment.In Phase-II which will be also on-line, the eligible candidates will be required to lock their choices andget their final allotment and download the letter.1715.14 For details of counselling schedule, candidates should visit the websites after declaration of result andnotification for the same will also be issued in the national dailies.15.15 Allthe latestinstructionsofAICTE, UP Govt.and MTUuptothedate(s)ofcounsellingshallbeapplicable.15.16 According to G.O. no. 2426/Solah-1-2009-13(128)/2009 dated 10-09-2009 the admissions will be givenon60percentseatsinundergraduatecoursestoPhysicallyHandicappedcandidates inDr.AmbedkarInstitute of Technology for handicapped, Kanpur and rest 40 percent seats for General candidates. Thereservation policy of U.P. Govt. will be applicable on both types of seats.
