Radio Listening Clubs
• Bi-monthly radio programs, supported by print materials for local leaders to learn, discuss and plan community actions

Radio Listening Clubs• Content:
– Information & strategies for leaders / communities to support improved practices in community members
– Based on action research (where possible)
• Delivery:– *Hosted by popular presenters (DJs)– English and local languages– 15 min of letters and call in time– Some entertainment

Music, Dance & Drama• National troupe trained and supported
200 local drama troupes (as seen in Last King of Scotland!)
• 14 “scripts” on health, HIV/AIDS & primary education topics : Local troupes adapt names, places, some content
• Local troupes perform for NGO activities & on request for events

– Information on the topic & dilemmas to provoke discussions about solutions to support improved practices in community members
– Based on action research (where possible)

• 800 Local Council Leaders oriented to advocate for health, HIV/AIDS & primary education

– Life-cycle packaging: child, adolescent, adult
– Positioned as supporting voters
• Delivery:– Simple facts with cartoons– Local languages

Counseling
• Child health in community: feeding, treatment of illnesses, preventive behaviors (ie, immunisation, hygiene, FP)
• 500 communities and counting
• Volunteers with tools including ‘negotiation counseling’ cards, community monitoring sheets
Counseling
• Content:– Individual tailored counseling & follow up– Counseling cards have:
• Assessment of current practices and context• Discussion of recommended behaviors• Agreement on 1-2 small steps to try in next month
• Delivery:– Simple facts with cartoons– Pictorial recommendations on 1 side
