The Mission of the Modeling and Simulation Center for Collaborative Technologies is to provide advanced technological decision support capabilities to partners and stakeholders in the environmental and energy research sectors and to help the USA realize its #1 position with MODSIM in the world.

The Mission of the Virginia Clean Energy Business Incubator is to bring energy technologies to market throughout Virginia.

• In August 2009, Virginia Tech created the Virginia Clean Energy Business Incubatoro Virginia Tech received $2.75 million for a

Phase 2 and 3 modeling and simulation program-energy focus

o In November 2009, Virginia Tech launched its first research efforts- The Distributed Hybrid Power Program and the Small Distributed Wind Turbine Program

o In February 2009, the Small Business and Residential Energy Service Center was created
